Simply when you apply for PvP, que should be based on your GS eg:
Now if some wonder why ?,500 and not ?,499, well for the simple reason that such players are called End fillers or Start fillers, and it helps loot for PvP performs much faster and you dont need to wait long. So you will sometimes get harder and sometimes easier fights, but again it is a lot easier if for example somebody with 2,5 GS fight vs 3k GS, then when someone with 2.2GS get someone with 4,1GS IMO this changes are not serious, and do not require a lot of coding, and would contributed to a lot more balanced PvP.
I immediately drew the attention of the known exploit that is used when it comes to GS cap PvP, where players remove gems and link them when enter the PvP zone, or replace gear with stronger links when they enter inside pvp zone, so any modification, linking, gear changening etc. should be prohibited in PvP zones.
Thats my two cents, fell free to koment regarding my proposal.
It really does not take video proof or a smart person to see that these two classes need attention ASAP(other classes def need a look at HRS(constant root)DC/OP healing BUT these two are the biggest issue

Right now piercing damage is the equalizer for TR's.
I spec Power and use SE a lot (said like I was in an A.A. meeting).
I die quite a bit because I am NOT a permstealther. CW's eat me alive and I RUN...and not very fast. Not to mention, perma-sab-CoS-TR's eat me alive unless I'm lucky (which I am many times HAHAHAHAHAHA).
My point is that you have to see SE in two ways under the current pvp circumstances:
1) an execution move on a low hp victim (ending move for many of the perma-sab-CoS-TR's), and
2) a one-shot HP-reducer that really works effectively against the other "bane" you mentioned, the GF, and other "unkillable" high tanks like OP's and DC's. This way must use the executioner paragon path PERIOD, with a very buggy capstone and a VERY short life-expectancy.
You cannot do both of these effectively in one build IMO (if you figured it out please tell me).
So, OP, I believe you are confusing the seemingly one-shotting moves with permas using it as a execution move.
Remember it doesn't go through DC shield/OP bubblelinkingthingamajig/CW tab'd Shield and I must reiterate the first point... piercing damage is our one equalizer atm, against highly geared opponents.
Just be glad the GF anvil-of-HAMSTER-your-pants isn't piercing lol. *Bullrush...DING*

The idea here would be instead of "brackets" they merely replace "ELO" with a new function called "High Ilevel Achieved" in which it keeps track of the highest ilevel achieved and then uses that for matchmaking. This would not be hard to do at all....
I think brackets could work but with the low population that are PVPing now it would not work... I do admit they would need to address some of the way matchmaking worked in balancing teams, ideally it would find 10 people of similar ilevel and play based on that.
If this game were not AS gear reliant, ELO would work really well. But when a 4k player meets a 2k player, we know the result 99% of the time. There isnt a "skill" level the 2k guy can have that will allow him to overcome a BIS player.
I don't disagree with the highest IL achieved idea, it's better than nothing, but I would point out that not all IL is created equal, like my CW is 3.1, but I have a trans barkshield and perfect PF and random artifact gear based on what was cheapest, I cannot compete with someone at 3.1 who has the LOL set and negation or feytouched, not to mention I have dumb stuff like dragon hoard enchants and stamina thingies on all my jewelry that increase my IL without increasing my effectiveness in PVP.
For a Supposed defensive class has GF way too much Burst Dmg and with the Prone combination is it godly.
For ppl who probably dont know what Prone are, Prones is the Best "interrupt skill" you can have, Prone goes through CC immunity (like unstoppable ),dodge,even tenacity inst really affected Prone goes over daze/root/stun etc and all the others
its why i think, they have to change all GF's prones to stun first than we will see if the high burst is still a point or not. cuz players will have more possibility to escape.

Funny but have to agree. Today i was doing PvP daily on my 2.2k, half-booned, no armor enchant HR, which is not even full trapper (left out the CD reduction feat cause i didn't want to "permaroot". Now, ended up in a match where a 4k (premade?) team of PvP guilds, was vs my 1.9-2.5k full random pug team (happens often lately). Full pugstomping. A certain GF was there. Now, i slot ring of ambush +4 on this HR alt, since it's so low geared and not a real threat. Helps the weak toons to survive. But, after a while, i receive a PM from this 3.5k GF who was running aroung stomping everything:
"Ok, i'll use mine (ring of ambush) now. Have fun".
He was 19-2, his team fully and hopelessly stomping mine in the usual matchmaking HAMSTER but...he got angry because i ambushed him 2 times, causing him to die 2 times (:O ) from my team focusing him.
And apparently, this was unforgivable. So he slotted his ring of ambush and started camping our spawn.
This is the idea of balance some players have. 4kish stomping hopeless 2kish is fine. But if some of these low gear toons (i use RoA+4 only and specifically on the HR alt because it's so weak that the ring actually allows him to do something, at least) dares using one of the new rings to just survive a bit more and do something other than get down from spawn--->die, causing him to go 19-2 instead of 19-0, he gets angry.
I was speechless. Seeing a close-to-BiS toon whining over a 2k toon slotting a ring of ambush to just not win, but die less...i think it's a sign of what kind of players populate PvP these days. And the kind of environment Cryptic created in PvP. It's the playground of overgeared kids, and if you dare do something to avoid being hopelessly stomped, they get angry.
I think the type of change they should be looking at to address this problem without causing too much damage in other areas would be to make it harder for a GF to stack different types of self-buffs. Something like this: - ITF activation time increased a bit, and cannot be animation canceled. That makes it a lot riskier to use in PvP, without changing its utility much in PvE. - Knight's Challenge outgoing damage boost reduced to 50%, incoming damage boost remains the same, and the incoming damage boost remains for a bit after canceling the power. - The damage bonus from utility powers like Combat Superiority, Shield Warrior's Wrath and Trample the Fallen should be mutually exclusive in terms of when they can apply. (Some conqueror-specific damage bonuses also apply here.) Or possibly change some of them to have different effects than simple damage bonuses. - Mark probably shouldn't outright give combat advantage. Maybe some of the aforementioned utility powers could be changed to give combat advantage rather than a flat damage bonus. - Another point would be to lower the Bull Charge damage itself a bit.
@macjae, these are good points. I wish GFs could spit out more PVE damage - since that is part of this crux. Noone wants a GF in PVE but they sure are gods of PVP!
I think it just comes from lack of AoE skills but amazing "focus" skills.
ITF - activation time increased. Maybe the CD starts AFTER the effect ends, but cut the CD down to a ~10 seconds (which would be lowered with recovery). So there is a set downtime on this + Also I would look at making it a flat damage % like GWFs "battle fury ~25%) because ITF alone is ridiculous +damage for the party AND for themselves.
Knight's Cheese - this one I have always hated even when I played GF. Its just so lame. it should be the GF gets a 25% damage bonus against the target, the target gets NO bonus damage to the GF but the target deals 25% LESS damage to his teammates. Its less severe, but its more realistic. Again - reduce the CD a bit so this has more uptime since its usefulness has changed.
I do like the idea of Mark no longer providing combat advantage as well. You would have to look at classes like CW too that get this easily. This would reduce GF damage as well as GWF damage AND make IV not head and shoulders above SM for PVP. Mark would still be good but not mandatory and SM would potentially deal more damage then via WMS.... So I like this ALOT! Mark can still be +20%.
I would also consider speeding up GFs at will animations a little bit in light of some of the other nerfs. They feel SOOO slow and immobile and not fun to play and when you do at will, you normally get 1-2 of them off because of their immobility. Speeding up cleave by 25%-30% would help them in PVE and speeding up Crushing 25%-30% would also help with tanking and PVP.

I love all of the hypocrisy I have been reading.
I have red the entire first 2 pages and only 2 posts speak the truth. The rest seem to be about their subjective PoV and what needs to be fixed from there.
- A GF saying that not one class can withstand his attack nor break his defense is talking about nerfing TRs because no one class should have great Def and Off... LMAO.
- Other people whinging about other classes being OP... or hard to kill.
I have a suggestion... once you play every tree/path of every class... and know all of the problems related to playing every tree/path do not ask for a nerf. All we can seek is a balance and lemonchill is the only one with a sound solution.
I laugh at people who think I am a Exec or a Sab... when I am in a PvP match. I use some Encounters that others do not. I use Dailies that others do not. I have had people troll me for being OP and BiS. I am no where near it.
I have a few guildies that I will occasionally drag along into PvP... with different set-ups:
HR, CW and me
4 TRs and an HR
HR, TR and OP
MI Exec, Wk Sco and Trapper HR
Mi Exec and Wk Sco
etc...
We choose those groups due to the synergy. The HR, he knows who he is, and I have been doing PvP with and against since March. We talk about how much our skill has increased since then. We have become more dangerous to others because we now have gear. We are finding that players who seemed unkillable when we were weaker... are now not as scary.
Why is that?
They have always played the same way. Without the proper stimuli a body of water that does not moves becomes stagnant. If you are not constantly talking or thinking about how you can become better... you won't get better.
Yes I have asked for equal skills for each class... but every class has their role and each class has 3 paths each with their own roles. You cannot classify one class as a Striker, CC, Heals or Tank... because each class with have more than one of those built in for enjoyment of play.
The classes need to be stripped down and re-engineered... BASED on the D&D rules.

Currently i stopped fighting against GF and let them alone, cuz's there now way to defend myself even with 150k HP 2-3 Hits im down. With Unstoppable or not it's the same its goes through that Burstdmg.

if you may know me or not, You would know that im not a fan of SE AKA Piercing dmg. But The problem on "GF are each encounter is dealing massive dmg.
TR's SE is still able to 1-shot people But it's only "this SE Daily not more. I personally don't have a problem with stealth, just SE need to be tuned down or the piercing need to be removed/ changed.

GF is balanced, it is GWF that needs boosts in PVP. We need a dodge mechanism, more damage resistance, and a prone. If you are a GF and can't 1 or 2 shot a GWF, it is not the class, it is you.

+1 knowing exactly what you talk about, we nearly lost all player who like to contest (no matter if lose or win) going PVP the ammount of PVP trolls is abysmal high and watching them slotting ambushring on their BIS toons, the moment things get challenging or voting for lolset to stay as it is is laughable....or sad

sure but saying that class needs a buff, hm a bit overdone, I met a GWF in Dom 3,5k GS (Bullfrey or -frog) he 3 vs 1 all time and his HP did not go down a mm, it is all about your build and gear, nothing else GWF having some selfheal is redicules strong, drunken set on top omg.. all you need vs GWF is movement, in case he "outruns" you you are dead so try f.e. that icydrake-build( "runner"), it´s very good even having low gear, otherwise a GWF without stamina is lost imo, especially having lower gear

I would not ask player like saber for help, sure he wins a lot and does good but high GS does not mean perfect build for your gearlevel or perfect gameplay I would ask player like xsajyijinx or this Bullfrog/Bullfrey (wth was his name) or otherones you meet in PVP every day, who do great at 3,5k IL and stomp all day, there are tons of them

I would also consider speeding up GFs at will animations a little bit in light of some of the other nerfs. They feel SOOO slow and immobile and not fun to play and when you do at will, you normally get 1-2 of them off because of their immobility. Speeding up cleave by 25%-30% would help them in PVE and speeding up Crushing 25%-30% would also help with tanking and PVP.
mean while the 90% of GFs that invested in CA can thrown their artis in garbage can.

I have red the entire first 2 pages and only 2 posts speak the truth. The rest seem to be about their subjective PoV and what needs to be fixed from there.
- A GF saying that not one class can withstand his attack nor break his defense is talking about nerfing TRs because no one class should have great Def and Off... LMAO.
- Other people whinging about other classes being OP... or hard to kill.
I have a suggestion... once you play every tree/path of every class... and know all of the problems related to playing every tree/path do not ask for a nerf. All we can seek is a balance and lemonchill is the only one with a sound solution.
I laugh at people who think I am a Exec or a Sab... when I am in a PvP match. I use some Encounters that others do not. I use Dailies that others do not. I have had people troll me for being OP and BiS. I am no where near it.
I have a few guildies that I will occasionally drag along into PvP... with different set-ups:
HR, CW and me
4 TRs and an HR
HR, TR and OP
MI Exec, Wk Sco and Trapper HR
Mi Exec and Wk Sco
etc...
We choose those groups due to the synergy. The HR, he knows who he is, and I have been doing PvP with and against since March. We talk about how much our skill has increased since then. We have become more dangerous to others because we now have gear. We are finding that players who seemed unkillable when we were weaker... are now not as scary.
Why is that?
They have always played the same way. Without the proper stimuli a body of water that does not moves becomes stagnant. If you are not constantly talking or thinking about how you can become better... you won't get better.
Yes I have asked for equal skills for each class... but every class has their role and each class has 3 paths each with their own roles. You cannot classify one class as a Striker, CC, Heals or Tank... because each class with have more than one of those built in for enjoyment of play.
The classes need to be stripped down and re-engineered... BASED on the D&D rules.
my points to GF beside that high Burst:
1). The GF Encounters have the fastest animation ever seriously, (someone did take a look on it?)
compared to gwf IBS which is incredible slow to land, are the GF's encounters like instantly.
If you are knockdown theres no way to react/ escape, less than a sec an encounter is landing on you already.
2). Prone again, its a dangerous Combination with that high Bust Right now!
Because theres nothing that can beat it, Prone is always on top.
Currently i stopped fighting against GF and let them alone,
cuz's there now way to defend myself even with 150k HP 2-3 Hits im down.
With Unstoppable or not it's the same its goes through that Burstdmg.

I would answer with "GF".
if you may know me or not, You would know that im not a fan of SE AKA Piercing dmg.
But The problem on "GF are each encounter is dealing massive dmg.
TR's SE is still able to 1-shot people But it's only "this SE Daily not more.
I personally don't have a problem with stealth, just SE need to be tuned down or
the piercing need to be removed/ changed.

1. NO GWF doesn´t need a buff, and doesn ´t need more tons damage resistance...at 4k you solo edemo
2. GF is not balanced---ITF!

knowing exactly what you talk about, we nearly lost all player who like to contest (no matter if lose or win) going PVP
the ammount of PVP trolls is abysmal high
and watching them slotting ambushring on their BIS toons, the moment things get challenging or voting for lolset to stay as it is is laughable....or sad
a bit overdone, I met a GWF in Dom 3,5k GS (Bullfrey or -frog)
he 3 vs 1 all time and his HP did not go down a mm, it is all about your build and gear, nothing else
GWF having some selfheal is redicules strong, drunken set on top omg..
all you need vs GWF is movement, in case he "outruns" you you are dead
so try f.e. that icydrake-build( "runner"), it´s very good even having low gear, otherwise a GWF without stamina is lost imo, especially having lower gear
but high GS does not mean perfect build for your gearlevel or perfect gameplay
I would ask player like xsajyijinx or this Bullfrog/Bullfrey (wth was his name) or otherones you meet in PVP every day, who do great at 3,5k IL and stomp all day, there are tons of them
