I feel that it is expensive. Not only the vip but everything in zen market as a whole.. you see, not everyone are born rich. i believe non working young people are the majority in the game. The current price is out of reach for them. Even as a working adult, i feel its expensive. Its fine that you need to make $ n keep the game running, but the price is just too high.

That is why people (including working adults) are farming AD so that they can get VIP without paying money.

For me, a casual player, this only makes sense. I don't have a lot of time to play and get the amount of AD you need in the game to progress. This gets me 1 enchanted key a day that will help me get that AD by what I get out of the loot box. My first key today I made 200k at the AH in about 30 minutes. Not to mention the possible decent mounts, artifacts, and companions I can get just from that 1 key a day alone. You may have issues with Cryptic or PWE or whoever but this is a pretty good deal. As long as they don't change it of course.

My first two days opening the new lockboxes I got nothing but trash, so I went back to opening Eternal Flame lockboxes.

If you use every single one of those, and somehow get nothing but air and trade bars, at the end of the month, you've still gotten yourself tradebars enough to buy a (bound to account) Coalescent Ward, effectively saving you 1000 zen (or 850 zen if you were waiting for a coupon drop).

Initially I would havevoted YES: for 30 Days: For The keys.
After watching public chat for the past few days, now my answer is no. Players are saying that boxes are going from giving 5 - 10 Tar Bar to 1-3 Tar Bar and that they are opening 10+ boxes at a time and getting nothing but garbage instead of the mount, artifact and pets they usually get.
so no, no VIP, not now or ever. got to love those ninja nerfs.

Well, I did decide to buy it but was disappointed to find out it doesn't even work properly. The only reason I purchased it was for the key and scrolls and my only character is completely unable to get the daily reward that gives scrolls (clicking on the button does nothing). So in the end it looks like all I got for becoming a VIP was a key. Oh well, I guess I will just collect keys for the next month.

Unsure. Specifically, I like what I see, but I'll decide when the promised rework of SW class happens.

To be clear, you are opening your inventory, clicking on the bottom tab with the silver crown, and then clicking on the "Claim" button next to the green "VIP Character Rewards" button and nothing happens? I ask because if you instead click on the VIP icon next to your portrait and then click on the "Claim Per Diem" button, it does not claim anything. It just opens to that inventory pane. But, if your inventory is already open it closes it instead.

Also make sure your overflow bag is empty and then check you don't already have one in any bag. They may have flagged it as unique.

After playing Strongholds... my answer is a BIG YES... I love this Mod... TY TY TY TY, we are back to being EPIC heros' YAAAAAAAAAAAAY.

You mean we're forced to ditch our old guilds and old friends because they're too small to possibly keep up and thus will never gain access to the boons that are ten to twenty times more powerful than the boons that have come before and thus will forever be behind large guilds if we do not. Curious definition of epic.

definately not 2 years ago this game was fun to play, then the mod after mod push to force cash money spending, hit way too hard.It is rediculouse at this ruined state of the game to expect us to pay them even more for trash 99% of it. cryptic need figure out that this is a fail direction to take the game if the only players left are the ones that can pay few thousand dollars a mod release, theres going to be 4-5 guilds and few thousand players in the player base, withought players ...game death. you must give somthing to keep interest the constant push for greed is killing the game.not to mention the buggs that havent been fixed since i started and theres 5 times as many now.

Pretty much this. Show me that you can still design a fun, halfway competent and decent story/module that actually expands the freaking content of the game, and maybe we'll talk about me basically paying a subscription fee for a Free-2-Play. Until then, shut up or buzz off, ideally both, and in either order.

I just opened one with my VIP key and got 10 trade bars and an Olhydra's Artifact Pack. I have been getting the usual results on all of them.

And nobody "usually" got mounts, artifacts, or pets. Those are the rarest drops. Whoever told you that is misleading you.

I switched to opening Eternal Flame lockboxes; I get the sense the crashing wave lockboxes are garbage.

So eternal flame lockboxes also drop fewer tradebars now. Or it could just be a sampling error.

It'd be nice if the devs could confirm whether the tradebar drop rate was adjusted with the release of VIP.

Tradebar drops were formerly 1-20 per box (this is after a very-long-ago nerf that capped the drop per box at 20) unless your box drops a tradebar jackpot (which means no other prize). Quantities under 10 are common.

Also, haha, devs confirm anything about lockbox drops rates. Roflcopter.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I am doing everything right. I am using the real button (the one just above the account button that gives a key and is working just fine), my inventory has space in it, and I do not have any similar items in my inventory (since it has never worked, I have never been able to receive the reward).

Sadly, this is not a totally uncommon problem. There are other people that are unable to get the daily reward on one of their many characters (usually the one that purchased VIP). Unfortunately, although I have been playing every day since release (about 2.5 years now) I only have one character so my one and only character cannot claim the VIP daily reward.

At least I have been able to get the keys, but I can't deny that I was really looking forward to being able to empty my inventory of all these unidentified items with the scrolls I got. It was a large part of my motivation for buying VIP to begin with.

Absolutely not. I refuse to share my time and money with out-of-control botting/cheating. Fix the gold selling spammers and ban all the accounts who buy their AD/Packs/Enchantments/ETC from illegal means. Then, and only then will I contemplate coming back to be a VIP. Giving me back the level 1-60 dungeons would also be a plus... just saying.

Hmm. Maybe its an error with how the code determines which characters have claimed it. Try creating a second character. Leave him on the beach if you want. Then log out completely and back in and try it.
