Eye of Lathander

Has anyone had an Eye of Lathander drop in DR recently? I've opened the arcane coffer probably 200 times since I got my Adamantine Gauntlet... I think the best thing I've pulled out has been a couple aquamarines..

What sort of drop rate are we looking at on that? And should I consider a different set, if I can never complete this one (having Draconic Templar PTSD flashbacks...)

The best I have gotten was a purple resonance. I believe they changed the drop probability.

Well, looking through older forum posts on the subject, it seems that this is like a super uber rare BoP drop.

Makes no sense.

But maybe tomorrow my luck will change.

I managed to get one before Mod 6 dropped, but after Well of Dragons had came out. My husband had gotten the cloak as a drop, so I bought the belt and figured having those 2 items, I should try for the the artifact. I had done the lairs in Dread Ring daily, I don't even know how many times, before Icewind Dale had came out, and never got that artifact. The very first time I ran it after I got the cloak and the belt, the artifact dropped for me. I don't know if it was coincidence or what, but that was probably my luckiest day in the game.

Never seen one dropped, ever... but I did get a GMOP from the coffer once in the earlier stage of mod6 @_@

In the last month I have seen it drop twice (for other people), and that is just the ones who linked it in party chat after getting it, could be more than that.

One of my guildies has been present for 10 drops of the Eye. I was told to carry him around, when he is on, and I run any 'mini D' in DR.

The last drop I saw was also back before Mod6 dropped. I have personally had over 20 drop on 9 of my characters. Even one, my co-main GF has gotten 9 to drop. Of course that matters little with them being BoP. And just as a aside, I got most of mine from the Death Forge. The lair I dislike the most, of course.

A quick word of thanks for people who have chimed in. I'll keep grinding it out.. the campaign currencies are supposed to be usable for Strongholds anyway.

And cool that Death Forge seems to be better luck.. that's my favorite out of all of them. :-)

I got the eye of lathandar artifact but only once.
Happened on the final day of the recent 2x RP event, with 7-8 hours remaining.
Just enough time for me to buy the matching cloak and belt and refine them.
I had completely forgotten about this artifact.
Was very very lucky to get this artifact on my DC.
On the day I got it, within a timespan of 30 minutes, I completed a dread ring lair on three characters.
One character got eye of lathandar artifact. Other character got greater mark of potency.
First time either of these items dropped.
I don't belive it's a coincidence that they both dropped only once on the same day.

Even though it's difficult to get the artifact, it is well worth the trouble.
When soulforged activates, my DC stands up again with almost full health!
My DC has only a lesser soulforged and an angel of protection as active companion.
Lathandar set would be very nice for a tank.

i play since open beta, i have 4 chars with adamantium thing, i did Dread ring dungeon every day with 4 char for like 4 month, and 0, then i got tired and start doing it just on weekend for the purple mark, now when they introduced the rp in mod6 i went back to do it dailly with the same 4 char after 2 weeks or so i just stop, since still no artifact drop for me.

so i can tell u its pure RNG, meaning u can run it 1k times if the % of drop its 1% (on each run), u can run it 1000 and average will give u 10, or 0. cuz for a 1%, 1000 its a low number for sample.

In any case i would like to see the artifact on dread shop, since its almost impossible to get it, maybe bop on shop and Boe in dungeon chest, because i never got 1 but some of my guild friends have got it 3-4.5 times on a char.

I have been playing since last November. I have just one character, an HR. An Eye dropped for him just before Mod 6 came out, probably in the Phantasmal Fortress as that was far and away the easiest DR lair for him before Mod 6. Last week, he pulled another one. I can't remember which lair. So I've hit two in nine months of playing. My friend who has been playing for slightly longer and who introduced me to the game has yet to find even one, so slightly annoying that I can't pass on my 'spare' by way of a thankyou as it is BoP and I can't even give it to another character if I ever decide to start one. So for me, the Eye of Lathandar is slightly less rare than Coalescent Wards. I have yet to pull one of those from an invoke chest.

I now have the full Lathandar Set and it is incredibly useful when combined with a Lesser Soulforged Enchant. It has saved me a fortune in Repair Kits that I no longer need, brings me back to life with a survivable level of HP and even comes in handy in skirmishes when a mob takes out the healer and the eye can bring them back from a safe distance to the relief of the rest of the team

Since I started playing NW in February 2014 I have had the Eye drop on all 3 of my toons. My Archer HR has gotten 2 I think, the Combat HR 3 (most recently one during RP event just past) and twice on my GF, which dropped two days in succession. I suppose I'm lucky although I do run the DR lair every day since I was able to (and Phantasmal Fortress the most). I have since refined a lvl 76 Eye away on my Archer and now I need it again for the set. I still have a lvl 92 Eye on the Combat HR even though I don't use the set and there are still 2 unrefined Eyes in my GF's inventory.

I reckon what Cryptic may do is remove the Eye from the Arcane Coffer and add it to a future lockbox like was done with the Seldarine artifact from MC. Personally I wish they'd at least make the Eye BoA until equipped so that I can still make use of the 2 unrefined Eyes without using them for RP. Or sell it for DR currency at the vendor.

Got 2 Eye drops in past 3 month, running DR mini dungeons on weekends when you can chose mini dungeon.

I have obtained the Eye at least once on 9 out of 13 characters with their purple gauntlet unlocked. That's with a lot of lair running for RP farming, at least on Friday-Sunday, time permitting.

Edit: And it has dropped for me post-M6.

I was wondering about that.. been working on getting my Soulforged ranked up as well.

It's weird how drops work in DR... my brother and I have been playing NWO since Mod 2 and we both do DR everyday. Out of 6 toons I have and the 2 my brother has, only my CW has ever gotten the Eye Artifact, and the worst part about that is, the CW has gotten it 6 times. 3 or 4 times in Mod 4 and 2 -3 times in Mod 5. So, after 2 years of playing and my brother stll has never won one.

It's not just in DR - RNGesus runs rampant through this game. Either she smiles on you or she pishes in your ale. Some people haven't seen one since DR launched, while others have seen it a multitude of times.

My last Eye was during the last double RP weekend, and it was used for refinement (nice surprise tho).
It was my 4th or 5th in something like 6-700 runs. So it's definitively a rare drop.

I think with the addition of all the other purple junk (well not junk, but I'd rather get my Eye!) that can drop in the coffers now it makes it super hard to get.

I have run DR lairs on my main with a Mithral gauntlet since Dread Ring came out... that is hundreds of runs. I have never seen it drop, not once.

I have had it drop once post Mod 6, probably run DF 10 times with a platinum gauntlet (PG). Maybe 20 runs total with a PG.

Regarding another aspect, can anyone actually get the bloody eye to Rez anyone. I've just about given up. It is very handy for saving gold on medi kits and the extra 50% health when soul forge activates is great. That's 50,000 HP for my GF

Took me 150+ runs to get mine it has like a 1% RNG chance or something.

Yep, it's been in continuous use for that purpose since I got it. You do have to be within range and you have to target the person you want to revive but otherwise, it works like a charm on other players and, before the automatic resurrection feature, was sometimes useful for bringing back my companion if Liira's Bell was still on CD.

Yep, it's been in continuous use for that purpose since I got it. You do have to be within range and you have to target the person you want to revive but otherwise, it works like a charm on other players and, before the automatic resurrection feature, was sometimes useful for bringing back my companion if Liira's Bell was still on CD.

Correct it has a range limit but man the rez is super useful. Probably even more now than when I used it as active in the first few months after eLoL came out.

I have had one drop on three characters (fortunately my DC!) also since Mod6 so I wonder if they improved the drop rate. However I do feel they should make them bind on account at least so you can pass them to the character that really needs it.

I think the eye of lathander should be buyable with 50 to 100 cyphers. Seriously after 50-100 runs you should just be able to buy it with your ciphers.

With bad luck you can try it all year and never get one!

I think if they just made it BoE instead of BoP, that would help solve a lot of issues, because those who really want it, can get it.
