It now takes 720k to level from 69 to 70. That means running the highest XP quest in Spinward Rise around 50 times even with a modest XP boost (I have 21% from Azures).
I hit Spinward Rise around L67 and only just pinged 69 as I completed the 'quest line' and got my mainhand. And that was during the Double XP event.
Sorry used to actually seeing my xp bar move when I turn in a quest worth 10k xp, so no alt leveling and not sure I want to level my main anymore either.

I cant even post the words associated with what a pita they did to this.
Not only is it 100% unfair to all new players, it removes ANY sort of natural progression to the game.
I have never.. not once , seen a MMO make such a whacked out decision in 20 years of playing mmos..
WHEN did you NOT ... want your players to get to end level? Of course you want them to.. that is where people usually start spending money.
I just have no ideal.
So at the moment.. its never worth refining until you hit a double refinement period

From a Metrics and Management perspective this is purely a way to get Numbers into Drowning shores - Spinward Rise to show that the time and effort put into those Zones is justifiable.
It won't work. Nobody is going to put up with the grind long enough to reach SpinRise. Heck - I'd be surprised if many make it through Reclamation Rock before quitting in disgust.

Maybe the use of these areas is a breaking point on the careers of this new team? Perhaps management is expect metrics from these areas as some kind of performance point for their annual or quarterly reviews?

This is the thing that baffles me. MMOs traditionally use a combination of stick and carrot to get players to do what they want. Cryptic reach for the stick every single time. There's never a corresponding carrot.

Then again they could have given the Vigilance quests a aquamarine each and people would flock there.
Yeah, no kidding. Bribe us with goodies and we'll be all up in your zones. Nerfing progression from doing anything other than the quests we've rejected as an unrewarding waste of time and we'll just be disgusted.

Never trust a company that has let you down more then 2 times. Once was a warning, twice was a lesson and anything more then that is simply taking advantage.
So Cryptic, you give us the ability to rank our powers up to rank 4 but don't give us enough points at level 70 to rank any of them up ( maybe 1 or 2 if lucky ). Then make the only way, overflow xp, to get more power points so we can actually rank up our powers even more tedious and grindy than it already was. Which is exactly the complete opposite of what everyone in the game wanted. Does that mean we are guaranteed a power point when we finally, weeks or months from now for some, finally reach that overflow goal. Or is still going to be left up to rng meaning most likely we won't get any power point at all. Just doesn't make any sense at all.

At the very least, they could make it so each time you achieve a level of post-70 advancement, you get a power point, (100% of the time). One of my characters filled up a bar yesterday, and all they got was a 5K RP stone...
