  • The complainers in this thread are doing more to convince me to check the show out than a year of advertisements has done.
  • The Jem'Hadar Vanguard Carrier has grown on me, now that I've figured out what I want to do with its combination of weapon and console slots. Like the OP, I have a fondness for the adaptability that you get with a ship that can separate. I'm fond of the Kara Romulan Warbird for this, using the console from the Haakona.…
  • I don't know whether I would like the new show or not, and I'm not subscribing to another streaming service to find out, but the game content sounds fun. I'm mostly just bothered that this is how we find out that Victory Is Life really is over. There's no new story coming there, the Gamma Quadrant will never be anything…
  • I've been melting the NPC versions of these ships in PvE with Gravity Well, Subspace Vortex, Kemocite Weaponry, and Anti-Time Singularity on my carrier. If I were flying a Multi-Mission ship with its Temporal boff seat, I'd be throwing Timeline Collapse as well just to have more cooldowns to spread around. These things are…
  • If nothing else, it's interesting to see how the invulnerability field works spelled out in a dev blog. I figured we'd get official answers to questions like that, and whether the Swarmers count as hangar pets for the purpose of countermeasures like the Intercept carrier command, once playable versions of the ships started…
  • I know the ones we're talking about; yes, they're from the Gamma Task Force reputation's dilithium store. I'll log in now and take a screenshot to post, if nobody beats me to it. ETA: Here we go. Here's the holster with the pistol in it: https://imgur.com/Nrv5mNz And here's one with the weapon drawn, just to show off the…

  • I just want a kit module that lets the Gorn that I have throw a big rock.
  • Getting Terran Task Force gear for my Klingon made a Badlands Battlezone fan out of me. It's just hard during the Risa event, from what I've seen. When I'm on, there just aren't enough players there. They'll come back.
  • I'm having similar difficulty trying to assemble Temporal Marks and Chroniton Buffers this week. As another posted pointed out, the Risa event is drawing a lot of the traffic while it lasts. The enemies in PvE also seem to be a lot tougher at level 65 than they were at 60, in my experience. This is probably for the best -…
  • My female Romulan (in case that makes a difference) had sandals in the "Beachwear Separates" uniform by default. Before I added any Risa stuff to my options, the default for that outfit was a tank top, a pair of jeans, and sandals.
  • So its Fire At Will or Beam Overload damage output is based on the base damage that a turret puts out. Honestly, it's not going to be game breaking if this one item is left the way that it is. Having already installed a crafted omni, the Time and Tide omni, and a good torpedo in my 5/3 weapon ship, I'm not going to take…
  • On most uniform elements that Starfleet characters wear, there's a row of black, grey, white, red, blue, and yellow at the very bottom of the palette. I just use those, and the results look like Starfleet uniforms. It's way faster than trying to remember which shade of red the rest of the crew is wearing, and it's more…
  • It's a tank ship that will shine when it can get enemies to chase it. What's hard to see about this? Use the Strategist secondary spec to pull threat and hold it, use the Pilot primary spec to make yourself harder to hit from behind. Put two omnis and the new quest reward turret in the front, put three arrays, a strong…
  • Fantastic episode! The ground and space battles were good tests for some build ideas that I've been tinkering with since the expansion launched, and the story was rich and meaty. I was going to wait and see if the the three piece set bonus does something to make the turret worth equipping; I hadn't thought about the turret…
  • From what I can recall my Romulans didn't have a Veteran ship right away either. Check the first two posts after the OP on page one. They fill in the details.[/quote] This is legit. Romulans had to wait for the veteran Admiral's coat as well, because Cryptic didn't rush it. Years later, the results still hold up as quality…
  • A game balance that allowed players to fill all their Engineering console slots with universal consoles for extra crit arguably needed readjusting.
  • Jem'Hadar don't get free ships for Tier 4 or below. They can spend dilithium at the shipyard, and they can still claim Fed or KDF ships that they own from the in-game store and buy new ones, but they don't get the leveling token.
  • The Klingon poster says, "tlhInghan maH," or "We are Klingon." These are pretty cool, and I appreciate that they're all vertical enough to make for a decent phone wallpaper. Congratulations to the winner and runners up.
  • The Jem'Hadar ships' durability might have been deliberately balanced around the fact that you can have both Vanguard Wingmen bolstering your shield hardness and regenerating your hull. My Warship has definitely improved since I upgraded my Engineering consoles. Those Mk XII purps were nice when they were level 50 endgame…
  • My Life time sub paid for itself years ago, just in the Zen I've gotten back every month, so I definitely find it recommendable, especially when it's on sale. If you're going to bring the sale again, though, this would be a good time to blog about whatever Veteran rewards are coming for Dominion characters. Hint, hint.
  • The racial trait that they have built-in. All Jem'Hadar gain bonus damage for ranged weapon and melee attacks, crit chance, and crit severity on the ground. The Vanguards get that, plus bonuses to damage, crit chance, and crit severity in space.
  • I'd say the Scimitar stands out. It was an early adopter of the 5 fore/3 aft weapon model, which I've come to love, and was the first Tactical dreadnought to come from the C-Store instead of a lockbox or Lobi crystals. I currently prefer the Jem'Hadar Vanguard Warship over the Vanguard Dreadnought, precisely because it…
  • My Federation-affiliated Jem'Hadar doesn't have access to the "Captain's Yacht" small craft either. I assume that this is intended, since he started out with a faction-exclusive Jem'Hadar fighter. Proper KDF toons can get their DujHod Chariot from the ship vendor. The shuttle information guy is just there in case you mess…
  • The reputations and specializations all get filled out over time by any character, but the fact that the Vanguard's racial trait grants bonuses in space as well as on the ground is a lasting benefit.
  • I haven't tried the Temporal Destroyer, but the Adapted Battlecruiser's console is pretty hilarious for getting enemies to damage each other. I haven't run across an Adapted Battlecruiser yet when running the Hur'Q queues, but I bet it'd be handy. Are you inclined to play a ship that's very sciencey? Because the Adapted…
  • Chirugeon Ghee P'Trell, the Andorian genetic therapist who Federation Captains save from Gorn bent on collecting augment technology, has appropriately been replaced by a subject matter expert on augmentation - Doctor Julian Bashir.
  • The gear from this set does some interesting things, and I really appreciate the number of passive set bonuses that won't contribute to overcrowding on my keybinds. Looking at the store unlocks from this reputation, I see rifles at Tier 1, pistols at Tier 2, projectile space weapons at Tier 3, energy space weapons at Tier…
  • The bug fixes that were ready in time for tomorrow's path are substantial, and I appreciate the hard work.
  • Yeah, the poses are based on the animations in the game, so the models aren't twisted and turned in any way that the art assets weren't designed for. It's a neat service, and I imagine the quality of the collectible figures' looks has improved as Blizzard's art for weapons and armor has over the years.
