No. But this would've made an infinitely better April Fools joke than Playable Horta (or Rebirth, which was more than just a blog post, Redshirt went back to launch for the day).
If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.
51 + 1 Foundry Character Slots is NOT enough. Some of us love our characters. If I want to buy more character slots, why can't I? I couldn't experience the entire Delta Recruitment event without deleting a character.
The Iconians themselves can't time travel because their memories revert, but there is nothing to say an Iconian couldn't write everything she needed to do on a PADD, pin it to herself, travel back, read the PADD, do the tasks and return. Or just get one of her Non-Herald underlings to go back in time for her.
Oh yeah, I do Foundry missions for both KDFs and Feds. Just search KSTF (Short for Kinas Special Task Force, where Kinas is the name of the Admiral you will be serving under). The earlier ones are less story based and more combat based, while the later ones have a much heavier story element, but keep the large battles.
There goes my hopes for a C-Store T6 connie. Doubtful it'll show up there, even a TMP T6 connie is very unlikely now.
<Sarcasm>
Thanks, Cryptic.
</Sarcasm>
<Not Sarcasm/snippy>
Can't say I'm surprised, though. I guess people who play by the seat of their wallet will be happy (those who are lucky anyway), and those who are space-rich. Good for them.
</Not Sarcasm/snippy>
Being special event ships is a double edged sword that may yet dull upon self infliction. Cryptic is absolutely not going to be able to get away with making the most iconic faction ships in Star Trek underpowered when they come in a R&D pack like the Jem bug.
Also, thanks to this new wave of end game ships with multiple acquisition methods we could see a more FTP friendly release in the C-Store.
Hopefully this won't exasperate the innate pains of gambling ships and balance while giving both the devs and the people what they want.
Can the C-store Tier 6 T'Varo use the T'liss skin now?
Well... s#*t. ~6.5 years playing this game, during the first ~2yrs of which I was one of the people begging for an End Game Connie (my personal favorite flavor is the version from TMP). But Cryptic continually, and in no uncertain terms, always said there was no way it would ever happen, so I gave up.
Clearly never say never. lol
I've flown ships that I've done my best to make look like this including the Excel, a kit-bashed Presidio, and most recently I even happened to win the Kelvin Connie (on my 3rd box/key). And now ...This.
I have mixed thoughts and emotions. I feel a little betrayal. I feel a little like an abused customer. A little mad, frustrated, and even confused. ...But... Well... Honestly... Mostly, I'm happy.
I can't help but be pleased at the business practice. Looking at it from an Earnings stand point, this was so well played. Release a similar ship (the Kelvin Connie) in a hard-to-get (ie expensive) fashion, give that time to settle down... and *THEN* release the true Connie, in an even more hard-to-get (ie more expensive) manner. It's quite brilliant! Cryptic might lose some customers, tick-off many more... But ultimately Trekkies(ers if you prefer) pet the FANATIC in fandom. Most are mad crazy about this IP, and will spend money on Trek the way an addict does on their drug of choice.
I'm happy this will be more money in the game's coffers, more likely the game to stay around, and continue to grow and update.
Ultimately, I'm just happy the true Connie will be in game. I'll have to figure out a way to get it... I've got a bunch of dil, and even some left over zen. Will probably just look to buy it off the exchange... Maybe I'll open a couple R&D Packs...
So now the only question... Ship stats, please?
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
I was watching for such a pack to happen so I could grab it right away, even though I'm currently not playing STO, but this does nothing to get me interested in logging in again, in fact it makes me less likely to do so anytime soon. First the Nagus fiasco, then the outrageous dilithium costs on the new uniforms, and now this ... Cryptic is doing a great job of spitting on their players right now.
Well, those other two I'd label as exceptional blunders. Here I think Cryptic's just playing by rules we knew existed. Honestly, I think the more interesting question is why didn't Cryptic try a TOS Constitution/D7 RNG pack shortly after these things first started (how far back did promo planning for the 50th anniversary go?)
The Nagus and Dil-Store Outfit pricing were disasters. This is totally legit. I can't help but be amazed it even happened after all those years of CBS saying no. The terms were probably something like this... "OK! We give up! You can have an end-game grade Constitution from the Prime Universe. BUT! Only if you implement in such a way that it won't be absolutely everywhere."
I do find it funny as well that after all the years of wanting an end-game Connie, some people are bitching because it's being implemented in a way that makes it Very Rare (if we count C-Store as Common, Event (Summer, Winter, Anniversary) as Uncommon, Lockbox (including the likes of the Vonph and Acheros) and Lobi as Rare, and R&D as Very Rare). I like ship diversity, it's why I don't visit New Romulus (AKA Scimitar Central) very often.

You guys realize that the T6 Constitution class is the holy grail of Star Trek Online right?
For some people. Personally I'm on a quest for a T6 Sovereign class and I know some are looking for a T6 Vor'cha, Nova, or Vesta. And for a long time we had people scouring the countryside for T6 Galaxy X, Oddy, B'rel, and Scimitars. Vengeance? Yeah, that was a top request for a few people too.
All us various questers meet up in a place called Camelot. Tis quite silly.

Since they now even put prime universe faction ships into prize boxes, I honestly expect the T6 Souvereign to be in one of those as well. Nothing is impossible anymore...
Constitution and D7; Sweet. Will I manage to acquire one? Odds are low but there is always a chance. Lots of of sour grapes from the willfully naive. Did you really think it would have been any other way?

I sense a T6 Sovereign coming with a T6 Vor'cha and a T6 Dhelan (because Romulans have a habit of getting the raw deal in these 3 packs) with this http://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Projected_Stasis_Beam as their console ability. Maybe some time near winter when AoY is over but before the lull of winter arrives, when story content starts flowing again and the console release is done.
T6 Nova is likely a slim chance, as for some reason it was relegated to T2 (probably because it's tiny) despite it being a modern ship with it's refit (Rhode Island) being still in service in 2410.
T6 Vesta is a no from what I've heard. Unless the strange situation surrounded the Vesta is resolved.
If you can't solve it logically, solve it like a moron.

So THAT'S what those pigs with jetpacks going by this morning was all about. I thought it was just a race or something.
watch your mouth, you racist <censored>! those are tellarites
How dare you? YOU are the racist sir I was referring specifically to Terran Pigs Sus scrofa domesticus. Not good Tellarite citizens on vacation on Risa! The nerve.
Get people desperate for a Connie to sell their souls for a Kelvin version to "make do" and then release the real version a few months later. And to top it all, put it in a lottery with worse odds than the lockboxes. Nice.
What annoys me most is that the dilex was just getting back to sensible prices and then they go shove a firework up it yet again. I get they want to make money I really do but a healthy exchange in favour of dil sellers surely encourages spending to some degree. I know from my point of view I'll never pay full price for a ship at 3000z, but I'd go half n' half on one with a favourable exchange rate.
Not a chance in hell of that with current exchange prices.
Are you f*cking serious? There's no way these old, outdated and completely useless ships should have ever reached Tier 6.
There's no need to do things like that just because some **** are demanding it, intelligent people should know that these ships are far to weak for the 25th century.
You sound Klingon.
No, the basic D-7 hull was still in use during the Dominion War. Klingons are big on re-using old hulls.

Hmm. By contrast, I've never once wanted a T5 or 6 Constitution class....so I won't even care. So I'm also...happy. I don't have to spend money, and all of you guys who wanted it get a shot at your number one most wanted ship. And so I wait patiently for my T6 Sovereign's turn to be released.
You guys realize that the T6 Constitution class is the holy grail of Star Trek Online right?

Well it can't really be helped. After all Q built the thing.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
This is going to be a love/hate thing for me. The T6 Prime Universe TOS Connie and the KDF D7... I love these ships but damn, that price is going to suck! :P
Since they now even put prime universe faction ships into prize boxes, I honestly expect the T6 Souvereign to be in one of those as well. Nothing is impossible anymore...
I don't, it'd be silly. Cryptic's main business is still lock boxes and c-store ships. That's what's release most frequently, that's what they headline big content updates with, they still need new content there. T6 sovy fits in just as well as a T6 Avenger or Galaxy. No justification is necessary.
Here we have a new promo set, launching at the tail end (presumably) of AOY, using special ships that we knew CBS had made off-limits to a general release. It's way too soon to take this as a new and enduring format for all notable content (it certainly wasn't the case after the Jem strike fighter or Voth Bulwark. Things moved on just fine.)
I sense a T6 Sovereign coming with a T6 Vor'cha and a T6 Dhelan (because Romulans have a habit of getting the raw deal in these 3 packs) .
Possibly but I still wouldn't bet on that happening for a little while. Cryptic's splurged heavily on iconography recently so to use up their last T6 hero ship revamp as a 2016 footnote (and right after a T6 connie) doesn't really strike me as terribly likely (I also don't think the boff powers for the temporal spec are a great fit.)
If there's something else coming to the c-store this year, what I'd bet is a miscellaneous 3-pack of 26th century FED/KDF/ROM ships. Maybe new designs, maybe revamps of less popular ships (ex. Patrol Escort, with some of the parts you can already pull off a "primitive Enterprise J" configuration), but nothing hugely noteworthy.

Oh, but it's a lot more"devious" than that, they put Temporal in the name,so it's not really a Prime Universe ship...
As usual I feel sorry for the people who might not be able to get the iconic ship they love to play with, you know small customers wallets matter too.
As much as I wanted a T-6 K't'inga, definitely not like this. My money is going somewhere else this time. So take your R&D Packs and insert them somewhere.

So, how long until the first "I spent $TRIBBLE on lockboxes, and didn't get a Connie" post, where TRIBBLE is higher than what was needed to buy it on the exchange, selling keys?
Words cannot even begin to describe the sheer depth of the feelings of disgust and contempt I have for Cryptic Studios right now...
