No idea how to do that, but the crashes look random. I did a dungeon without crashing then did a skirmish and crashed once. Sometimes I was just standing in a public area doing nothing for several minutes and game crashed. Later played for 2 hours without crashing.
In many areas you can sometimes do a progress for more than one quest at once.
