The current team did a great job at bringing the Typhoon to life beautifully. I am grateful! Perhaps it could become somebody's work passion project at DECA to bring the original Typhoon into the fold, too. Whatever limitations applied to designing starships when STO was first launched, I think whoever realised the…
The NPC version is called the Sirius-class dreadnought. Secondary source: https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/Sirius_class So, mirror-Hestia escort and Cygnus-style Sutherland/Nebula science vessel confirmed. Online speculation is that the mirror Aquarius escort is coming, too. That leaves room in the pack for the Sirius…
The only workaround for now is to use a Holo Boff at captain's rank. For instance, a DSC Starfleet could roleplay as either First Officer under Captain Lorca, or Admiral with Lorca's ship as their flagship. The option to give a boff captain pips would be cool in the Tailor, tho. And I also out myself as somebody who…
Interesting question. I like the sound of that. Being able to get the C-store version allows me to reclaim it any time, and is useful for RPG/space barbie requirements. Whereas the Promo ship is for the stats, requires a particular build, and does not need to be on everyone of my characters. Each option fills a niche.
As a space-barbie fan, I'm looking forward to checking out all the skins for the four ships and how they can me mix/matched. So far, we know of the B'rel variants. The new Excelsior is the Repulse class: https://i.redd.it/0vu2fsdiw2461.jpg The Ambassador does not have a 25th century-style counterpart, so this might be it.…
Come on now. Devs like Thomas Marrone have updated/created ship skins free of charge - most recently Enterprise class (refit Connie), Soyuz class, Centaur class. We get the T6 ship token to earn us a free ship, as another example. The game has to make money so it can provide the services it offers.
And perhaps the combadge/rank combo from TNG "Future Imperfect" & "Parallels". The DSC combadges show that rank-specific combadges can be done. Unfortunately, I guess it's unlikely to see Colm Meaney in-game because contracted voice actors need to be part of a US voice actor guild - it's why they had to let go of the…
If Colm Meaney ever reprised his role as Chief O'Brien, there'd be an incentive to introduce his rank pin. Personally, I'd love to see the deputy director and provisional/Maquis rank pins as well at some point.
If we want to cover a science vessel, make it Risian and Disco-related, I'd propose introducing the Baron's Barge from "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad"! It's from DSC, we could pretend/infer it's a Risian design, and make it a science vessel.
Read the article. Where do you guys get the hint of a coming mega-bundle? (Not that I'd be averse to that, he he). Anyway, a real surprise that we get this ship. Looking forward to flying it, especially when I can hold the Eaglemoss model (called Solkar class, btw) of it while doing so. LLAP
Are we still requesting the D5 class in this thread? Because, Imho, both the ENT variants and TOS version would be neat. Especially if we get to print them out.
This is unexpected. Mirror ships are always welcome for me. Perhaps this paves the way towards having the canon DSC mirror classes - Cardenas, Crossfield and Walker, too. Imagine the ISS Charon!
Unlikely for now but it would be cool to have the Shepard class also as light exploration cruiser, and thus have interchangeable cotmponents with the Walker class. Same goes, in theory, for the Klingon side for the Qoj/QatIh and Jach ship class families.
Scary! Nobody wants to be in that generation that gets called to arms. I wonder if all the characters from this blog are blog-only, or if some of the name-dropped cadets make an appearance in "Secrets" and "Downfall".
We know the Malachowski class will be our starter ship. I could see the Nimitz class as a high-end vessel. Cardenas mid-range, but probable in any case due to the prominence of the USS Buran in the DSC story. Walker and Shepard would be perfect for mixing with each other.
