The thing with having flown the current Corvette, for me at least, is that EVERYTHING else, except pilot escorts, feel slow. It reminds me of when I switched to HD TVs then non-HD became unbearable.
I second the "it's quite a beast." It's an easy ship to fly with beam arrays too since you're doing circles around an enemy and all the while beams are firing.
"Survival was dubious at best" ... if you're saying this about the T5(U) Corvette, then it seems you missed out on one of the major perks of the ship; it's nearly indestructible because 99% of the time things can't hit you!
It is desirable to me mainly because it has the highest impulse modifier (0.25) and at the time of release, the fastest darn thing you can fly. It is also highly customizable. And last but not least, you are rewarded for "going fast" because it gets a defense bonus like +15 max at high speeds ... it is very, very hard to…
T5U Corvette is my favorite ship which I have piloted the most. But, I still have not had it entered into any "races." I tried to befriend other Corvette owners in hopes to gather like some folks do in their real-life Honda Civics or BMWs; was not successful.
Well there is a first time for everything. The Corvette is so deserving of pilot maneuvers though ... unless they make the thing super fast, naturally aspirated and all; it must claim the speed crown once again somehow!
You beat me to it. The T5U Risian Corvette is my favorite since it was released. I can't wait for the T6 though it better at least have Pilot Maneuvers!
Actually, it appears just to be an issue with the Miracle Worker perk "Percussive Maintenance" (when activated). Buffing just run speed does not trigger glitch.

I think I have pinpointed the issue, it seems to occur when run speed is enhanced in any significant way, especially from "Percussive Maintenance" which is a Miracle Worker perk which is triggered from executing a melee attack. Again, I think this issue just happens when run speed is buffed in any way.

Yup, I don't think it is from melee attacks anymore, it seems random and I am about to just accept it as the "Soul of Pahvo." I mean they do refer to this in the headline for the event. This is Pahvo's soul attacking us :( .
Thank you, I am so glad I found similar feedback! I just noticed this and it is soooooo annoying. Escorts being able to do all of the above is a major flaw in this game... PS: Anyone who says otherwise hasn't experienced the frustration in Ker'rat PvPvE zone.
Just wanted to see if I could revive this thread by posting my current and only build. Ship: U.S.S. Good thing Human Boffs are not expensive on the exchange because I switched out all my stations for humans only to find that my 5 person human boffs did nothing to my sub-system repair (in or out of combat, and not in sector space derp). So I would really like to know what's up with the Leadership trait as well...
