I understand that if you brought STO through steam you can still buy c-points through that. there is a thread in the c-store forum somewhere as others have been having troubles too.

It is the annoying for the factor that you are forced to do it just to login to the forums and also if you want something off the C-Store. I was very happy with my Cryptic account playing the only game that interests me in perfect worlds line up. now i have had to create an account i didn't really want to play a game i do…
