No, malware/ransomware is almost a non issue if these servers are running a *nix variant, same with a virus. Windows very own special version of update entropy (whatever that means) would have no bearing on the servers either. Cryptomining should be a non issue if you have competent admins, its simple, don't allow it. Its…
Um......why exactly are you advocating that I "Watch some dps videos, usually the biggest trick to clearing queues is knowing when to be where. That would probably be a better use of your time than advocating for a queue restriction that isn't going to happen" Are you making the assumption that I don't have a clue to what…
I don't think I advocated for "restricting it" per se, I advocated for allowing it after X conditions are met, (in my example, unlocked or keys gathered etc...) I think that's very different than pre-mades. pre-mades , imho, are a grp of people that play together, run the STF's together a LOT, know each others play style…
Trying to come up with a system that can not be "gamed" is impossible....ANY system can be gamed....if that's your criteria, the system can not be gamed....might as well not bother. Also, you need to consider how difficult/time/worthwhile said system would be to come up with/implement for the devs.
I disagree, let me tell you why. In a progression system, you learn as you progress, or at least you should, running X on "normal" SHOULD teach you mechanics etc.....yes it comes down to attitudes and behavior also, but learning also. Progression isn't about "locking out" its about preparing you for success in harder…
Very well put, I also use this game as a just chill out thing. If I want to be competitive I have other games, yes I run an elite every now and then, but its not my focus, here anyway. Again, very well put
Not necessarily, what if you DC, die, then reconnect....it happens. It need's to be accounted for. Which, is why I don't think one death should be a make/break. Multiple in the same STF....ok that might be taken into consideration.
How do you plan on accounting for deaths caused because of server/connection issues. Now, just so it cant be said I don't have anything to contribute I submit the following. When I played EQ1 years ago, before a guild was able to tackle the ToV raid zone, there was a "qualifying" mob to take down, this was not a SOE…
So, some advice to nabreeki, You MAY have good intentions in your opinion on why perma-death is a good idea, and it is an opinion you are entitled to, but, please take the following into consideration: Calling people "undesirables", "whiny Trek fans who just want to play Kirk", "looser PUG groups" and generally putting…
I have no worry about the devs doing the perma-death thing, will not happen, it would cost them to many players/income. This whole conversation is about a few elitists wanting to wag their epeen and show how bad-TRIBBLE they are in elites and how much better they are than the casuals.
Nope, its a common business ratio.....but whatever. Your comments became worthless as soon as you stated could determine who was "undesirable" and who wasn't.
