  • That's what Cryptic has been doing, and it's been hit or miss. The Bortasqu set I mentioned in my OP, for instance, were fine as cruisers, they just didn't have the agility that the KDF expected, so they failed to sell. And I'm not suggesting that Cryptic stop spreading designs or halt their other ship plans. But, why not…
  • There's a problem with your phase shift generator, but you're not the only one. It appears to be a lifetime design flaw; though I doubt that the Fek'Ihri will issue a recall. In the meantime, please be careful at high warp speeds and when attempting to use the phase shift generator, and be alert for structural integrity…
  • I have the exact same problem - I see only the same parts of the ship (bow and aft ends, no main hull) I first thought I had a corrupted file somewhere or something, but I forced a validation and it came up clean. I interrogated my first officer about it, and he appeared to be chagrined and mentioned something about having…
  • Still bumming around the Alpha Quadrant - I tried another one (besides bonus xp for killing the groups is fine with me) and this time the Unimatrix appeared! Now I dunno what's going on. :/ Don't know which variants exactly, I just click the big red alert and poof I'm in.
  • I ran two Alerts in the Alpha Quadrant today. No Unimatrix appeared in either one.
  • Oh gosh, I don't remember. It was close to the Beta quadrant though, like second or third column from the right edge? And towards the 'south' end of the Alpha quadrant. One of those sectors. I was just flying from Qo'NoS to DS9, IIRC, but I wasn't exactly taking a straight line. :/
  • Edit: Oh, nevermind.
  • I started rewatching my DVD set of TNG earlier this month. And I was at first surprised - I think they only fire the ship's phasers once in all of Season 1? I don't know if the "magic" is gone. The shows themselves turned to more and more action-adventure rather than exploration of sci-fi and humanity - along with a lot of…
  • Bah, I don't need no steenkin T6 KDF ships. My only wish is for BoP universal boff stations to be universal to include all of the specializations. ;) (okay a science ship would be nice)
  • You have a point, but there is no real reason behind the enduring popularity of ISA. The reward is meh, the length is meh, the fun factor? Meh! Yet, it's still the go-to queue. DPS junkies like it because there's little lag time between mission phases, but that's it.
  • I thought they were bugged out and gone as well, then I came across one Tulaberries one yesterday. Worth noting that all of the sectors generate a different list, so if you have a fast ship and cross sector space rapidly, you may actually be sweeping past them. Nonetheless, they are for sure not as common as they were. I…
  • Your belief is not required. Check out the page on the official wiki for Gravity Well, for instance (http://sto.gamepedia.com/Ability:_Gravity_Well) Notice the lines:Starts 15 second cooldown on:Tyken's RiftDuplicate ability cooldown:40 seconds You can reach the official wiki by clicking on 'Wiki' in the ARC client, if you…
  • Infected Space Advanced proves otherwise. The fact that it's so popular that everyone knows how to do it doesn't disprove the point. It requires special tactics or overwhelming DPS, just like ANRA.
  • You're doing ANRA wrong. One player (tank) grabs aggro, a second player sneaks in and releases the ships. The only issue is the Recluses pack FAW which interrupt the interaction, though ideally the tank trains the Tholians out of range. There's no reason to actually kill the ships, just grab their attention. They hit hard…
  • As far as 1&2 go, this is intended behaviour. Mines, torpedoes, and skills start a global cooldown on related items when they are used. This global CD is usually less than the 'normal' CD, but it still exists. It is an intended game mechanic, and some of the DOFFs interact with it when you put them on active space duty.
  • Whoa, bud. I'm having the same issue (KDF toon) but you need to take it down three notches. You can skip the mission for now and go onto the next one, and then return and finish this one when it's fixed. It's not that serious an issue, though it IS an issue!
  • I have the same problem. KDF.
  • Ah, got it. It must not have proc'd (? really?) the first time round. It shows up as 'Protonic Energy Stabilizer Module'. It's less than half the secondary deflector damage. So not worth it.
  • Yeah, that's why I only started experimented with one. It's based off your PrtGn skill so the damage is actually quite high on a sci boat; mine's promising 1.1k on the proc. Basically I think it'll make sense to use if it procs on tick of the power, not on activation...
  • BOFF seating is set in stone. To get different seating, you have to get a different ship. Cryptic has to make money somehow.
  • Sez 6 at the shipyard. Hard to know in game, I've got mine up to 16 and change now. >.> Ah, misread that. My bad. I noticed the thingie about the Fleet versions in the addendum, after my post. Yay, get the 5 engineer consoles back... but then you lose the Ship Mastery option! Hah! So at least the consoles remain the same?…
  • Ummmmm. I'm flying a D'Deridex Fleet Retrofit right now. It has a base turnrate of 6, not 5, and FIVE engineer console slots, not four. Switching to the T6 ship gives me an upgrade on my ensign universal to LT and gives me access to command abilities from my top engineer slot (that I actually need for engineer abilities)?…
  • I guess we don't know yet, but I thought I'd ask. "faction-wide bonus" means a choice of Fed or KDF, or a choice of Fed or Rom or KDF? How many times would I have to grind up if I want this bonus for all or the majority of my toons? I don't even know that I have time to grind up one. Or that I want to. I guess I do,…
  • Missing was never the question. Accuracy overflow into crit chance was the reason.
  • Ah, okay. That was the missing piece.
  • The launcher won't recognize my account. I use ARC. It gives the following error: Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out Attemping to log in from BC, Canada.
  • ty, I'll come back and have a look when I get a little more tired of my current MMO. :)
  • I've been away for a while as well. I'm not currently looking to run back, but darn if I don't miss the depth of the skills/gear/ship mechanics. Possibly the most mechanically complex RPG ever. Anyway, are they still gating the story content behind rep grinds? That's what drove me away...
  • There are a lot of good fleets around. If a fleet has their own website/forum and a vibrant community, that's probably a good sign of a fleet you want to be a part of.
  • I've been running a tac-ish Kar'Fi build for a few months now. I've been really happy with single cannon tetryons and Fer'Jai's to unload their devastating tricobalt payloads after my tet's have stripped the shields. Other than one EptE (which you might want to slot an EptW instead) and a Viral Matrix in the Com. Sci slot…
