What kind of Video Card do you have if I may ask? Most Video Cards have a built in program which you can set the settings for each game inside that program and it will load those settings instead of the games. Might want to look into that.

Well I would just copy your girlfriends STO installation and just put it where yours is. Probably /:c, Users,Public,Games. If that dont work you could do a fresh Windows install or just put her hard drive in yours to see if either computer can boot up STO.

Yeah, I'm with you there. I get the same drop in fps but can play quite alot of the newer games even on medium. As far as settings I'm not sure which one would apply to more or less plasma. One of those things that you just have to mess with to figure out sadly. P.S. Might want to also check and make sure your video card…
