I am having issues as well. Done all the checks on my end, but I am in the US and do not use Virgin as my internet carrier. Disappointing too, as I just bought this computer a few weeks ago and was finally able to play STO again after about a year of issues with my old one.

I have the Logitech Wireless Afterglow Headset, it's got plugs for both USB and a 3.5mm iirc.

been having similar issues. Had a lightbulb go on though. Recently I was playing another game that was also crashing to desktop...until I unplugged my headset. Tried it with STO and so far it seems to be okay. 2 missions in, no crashing. *continues to cross fingers*
