Okay.... I agree with this, but only a little bit. Tet often knocks out shields completely when I use it. I have some Pol cannons on my Mirror Adv. Escort, but when I'm running broadside, my rear Tet beams still drop all shield facings (like total shutdown.... I thought is was a glitch, but it seems to only be happening to…

Good. Is there something similar for secondary shields and engines coming for cruisers and escorts, as well?

IMO, tet is very useful for crusiers or sci ships that would never be able to melt shields that fast otherwise. Mix it with chroniton, plasma, or plasma disruptors, and the effect will be similar to that of a sniper rifle. What wouldn't be out of place is this: Put music from now (like 60s or 70s on)..... IN CLUB 47. It'd be funny as hell to see a bunch of aliens dancing to rock or something..... Also, make the NPCs get angry whenever Bieber or 1D is played..... I rest my case, gentlemen. :D
