German here. For 2 months or so the game has basically been unplayable due to lag or constant disconnects. There have been similar periods of this in the past, but never as long or as often as right now.
I think I said that in the last thread as well, but when the WW2 Allies went along with denazification, they removed the swastika from the eagles and left the eagles in peace. Maybe it wasn't bold and italic enough to be noticed, so let's try this again: Why do you demand from Cryptic and the forum staff to be more…
Shuttles are terribly underused in STO and I for one welcome every opportunity to reasonably use them, even if it's just carbon copied star ship missions.
And this is why the anti-disco ball side continues to be a laughing stock with every new thread. "Disco balls are like **** and murder" is simply an insane argument, no matter how you look at it. And it comes up nearly every time.
That's actually because of the windows. When you set the windows to Fleet, the material is also automatically set to Fleet and can't be changed back. Just hit randomize a bit until you get windows 1 and a non-fleet material and you can customize as usual.
Greetings and thanks for the thread. There's a long-standing graphical issue with the use of the old Qo'Nos map (it is currently used in the mission "Blood of the Empire" and available in the foundry), namely that the middle part is a giant gaping hole of nothingness. Some mesh seems to have disappeared (the colission…
I had the same issue. There is a solution, however: Some uniforms, including the Wells pants have an "invisible" second color. Switch to one of those pants which has two color options and change both of them to the one you want to have, then switch back to the Wells one. It will fit.
As this is precisely what I did (even kept the golden eyes Martia had), I fully endorse this post. Especially as sex changes on the fly would probably be incredibly hard to code now that the codebase has been expanded for so long.
It's probably justifying something that was designed thanks to the rule of cool, but to a regressively conservative society like the Voth Doctrine, it does make some sense. You can imagine that those war dinosaurs were beasts of burden and mobile siege weapons during the Voth equipvalent of the middle ages. Where other…
It does, actually, it's just that the gfx guys in TNG used the deflector as a torpedo launcher/beam array and everyone's been using it that way since. The design as intended is sound. http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060309065040/memoryalpha/en/images/1/15/IRW_TMet_firing_disruptors.jpg See that dark green "V" where…
I'm happy to see that this fix has been done. It's one of those little annoying faction-specific issues. There's another one in the Embassy that I think could be fixed really easy too: the KDF Embassy Bar at Tier 0 has a nice chandelier which disappears with Tier I and later. The similar one in the Fed Bar stays throughout…
It's not worth it. Right now I basically use it as pop-up target until I get an Aceton Assimilator if I slot it at all. First, let's have a complete look at its capabilities: 1) It features a Quad Disruptor Cannon, Disruptor Turrets and Chroniton Torpedoes. It can use Subspace Jump as well. 2) If you have two or more…
That seems simplistic: More Crew and Hull is pretty much bought off with the shield modifiers, so I think both ships are even. Lower Inertia is however worse not better, so that point goes to the Ody. Same with the turn rate (.5 or not, it's noticeable). This has gotten less severe with the turn rate bonus revamp,…
With the KDF ship "delayed" until further notice, your only real bet (lifetime ship aside) is the Tor'kaht. Since it's the fleet version of a Vor'cha, at least you can make it look good. :(
It was accidentally activated on the Azure Nebula Rescue map and showed the bugginess of in-progress code (i.e. people who were doing their fair share of shooting and point winning got hit with the penality). I really hope it will at earliest hit with S8, because it clearly needed more work.
Oh hey, I remember being there for that particular fiasco. You might not remember me, but I was one of the 10 people who were telling you for a quarter hour straight that yes, "giving someone stuff for fleet marks" really does count as sale. Not that you did listen when the entire channel told you you were wrong. In any…
The best way to deal with Tholian Captains is wail on them with a sword-type weapon (Tegolar, Falchion, Crystal Sword). It disrupts their charge attacks and make them okay to deal with.
There is a really big caveat to this. After or during the upgrade of the Dil Mine, you must prioritize the Fabricator Starbase above all else: the fleet credit cost for every provision (mine/embassy/likely spire) is dependant on the level of your fabricator - a Tier V fabricator will make you only spend 400 per instead of…
I would like this opportunity to publically thank House of Sigma, who (as far as I am aware) was the first KDF fleet to make Elite Engineering Consoles available while everyone else was grinding their mines for Elite Warp Cores. It's only thanks to team players like them that NoP Public Service can continue as it has, a…
I must admit to be quite disappointed - I had assumed the last vanity project would be a miner's bar, fully staffed with a Horta bartender. Alas, one can dream.
Sounds like an interesting idea - the Hoh'SuS is painfully medicore as it is and giving it something from the Bortasqu would help distinguish it greatly. The autocannon might even be worth using on a BoP.
The KDF Tier-4 Marauding Doffs still can't be edited. Hasn't worked since the feature was introduced, the corresponding Fed Diplomacy Doff of course works.
And add to that that it's not even a good design, apparently done or ordered by someone who doesn't understand how form should follow function - just observe how the docking ports for large ships were connected and turned the station into some sort of spinning top with sci-fi science holes (tm).
