Honestly I've found in the expansion they're trying to make you a little less bloodthirsty, you'll generally have the option of trying to get along and be peaceful. It never works out of course but it's the thought that counts.

Yeah. I would tend to doubt that Cryptic would take a fire axe to all their merchandise. Doesn't really make much sense. Makes more sense that you'd have to pay additional resources to get those old ships up to par, that way you keep your favorite ship and they get paid.
