You can, but I am asking specifically about the shuttle sized beam arrays which have a 360 degree firing arc, the regular ship sized beam arrays do not.

It is not just you, in every STF I ran today my targeting constantly shifted focus. Only way I found to stop it from happening was to turn off auto-targeting.
