  • Basically, they worked on fixing some things that should have been that way from launch and gave us a cheap version of the costumes from Tron. So yeah. Your typical Cr*ptic output...
  • So... did Disney buy out Paramount already? You'd better hope so otherwise they are going to sue you for duplicating the costumes from Tron! They look terrible. Of course.
  • While, in current iterations of the Klingon Language (tlhIngan Hol) originated by James Doohan (RIP) and expounded upon by Marc Okrand, the self identifying term does in fact sound like "Klingon", it's origins are less than clear and may have been alien influenced. In STII:WoK, Spock says to Saavik in Vulcan, "Kling…
  • ^^This all day long. Offense, Defense and Healing are all just numbers and are not so hard to balance. You get 100% mixture. Let's say 100 points. If you have 50 points Offense then you only get 50 points left for Healing and Defense. End of story. Game is balanced. This is the formula used on most games with viable PvP.…
  • The Pay to Win/Gear to Win model is simply not conducive to PvP. Simple as that. Mix that with the obvious quality of the studio making the software and you have the status quo of PvP in STO. The best thing to do is to simply enjoy this game for what it is: one of the last vestiges of a beloved IP and the only MMO…
  • Happy stories never begin this way.
  • I can tell you from over 10 years experience, never ever ever ever try to PvP in a game made by Cr*ptic. If you want PvP you may want to look elsewhere. Unless you can suggest a way for PvP to generate massive Zen, forget it. And even then the fixes would lean more towards Zen sales than actual balance. I'm amazed they…
  • Right, it's not how you ask nicely. In my 10 years experience dealing them I have learned that such an approach would be futile. Honestly I doubt that anyone at Cr*ptic will do anything but close this thread. Just want to have my bases covered when Arc/PW asks if I took it up with the devs first. The fact that they will…
  • Okay! "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only impact you by making the game better because of increased funding. So, basically you don't have a dog in this fight. But thanks for the bump!"
  • Uh huh. Yep. We got it. :P "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only impact you by making the game better because of increased funding. So, basically you don't have a dog in this fight. But thanks for the bump!"
  • I'm hoping it will accomplish exactly what the title indicates: Let's up the stakes. This is an attempt to allow Cr*ptic to bring the potential profit of this arguably minor feature to the attention of Arc/PW. If you make it about money, it's no longer an improbable feature that's more trouble than it's worth. Also,…
  • Some of us feel differently and would like to see this change implemented. If that statement is true and Cr*ptic has the "exclusive contract" then this is our ONLY method to experience any version of the Star Trek universe on an MMO scale. While you may be resigned to simply accept that immersion will never be any better…
  • Agreed. This is not a game breaking issue. I haven't PvP'd since launch but if it's broken they should definitely fix that as well. Sadly, unless PvP'ers spend a lot of zen I doubt they'll get much love. Perhaps if they see the income potential they'll devote the resources to do both.
  • I think if you show Arc that a feature will add a level of income they deem significant, they'll have Cr*ptic brass determine it's a good idea.
  • You realize they don't get money for other c-store items they add until they are made available, right? And I'm not saying your opinion doesn't matter! I'm saying you've stated it already. Several times. I don't see what else you have to constructively contribute to a thread about an idea you aren't interested in. "Again,…
  • Let's also keep in mind, this wouldn't involve a lot of work on the devs part. A helmsman gives you the option to pull up a galaxy map. You click a sector to see the sector map. Click the system you want to go to, the predetermined timer for point A to point B starts ticking and you stay inside your ship til the timer runs…
  • Very VERY well said. And we'd pay for it too :-)
  • You DO realize that more money means more dev resources, right? SO... maybe more devs? Which means more time to work on these benefits you mentioned? Yeah... And nothing is "done" if you can show a corporation more profit. "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only impact you by making the game better…
  • Well... once you prove to Arc that the idea would make money, they make the change a priority. That way, the devs are working on features that players actually would use, enjoy and pay for instead of gambling on things that they hope might be profitable. "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only…
  • Yep, we get it. You wouldn't buy it. Just like you said in your other posts on this thread. Okay then! But, you do get that when you see a ship flying through space on one of the shows or movies that you are WATCHING the adventure not PLAYING the Captain, right? "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would…
  • Well, clicking a star system from the sector map then watching a third person view of my ship fly there isn't the same as walking my character to a helmsman choosing a course and then walking my captain to his ready room. The first scenario is generic while the second is much more Star Trek. Yeah it's pretty sad that we…
  • Hehe, nice idea! Now remember I'm talking about JUST making the calculations about the time it would take to travel from any one system to any other system. It's a pretty simple task that someone completely unfamiliar with the game's code could do. It's basically google earth driving directions with some special variables…
  • Exactly. Or send us back to where we started if we choose to abort.
  • Yep, I don't see that ever happening. As far as it being unappealing, "Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only impact you by making the game better because of increased funding. So, basically you don't have a dog in this fight. " But thanks for the bump! :-)
  • Seems like a natural evolution of the idea. A bit of a buff from doing things in transit seem fair for $100. Of course, we have to start somewhere so step one is getting them to add the timer driven fly from bridge feature. As I imagine the Borg will obey the hive mind and simply close this thread rather than consider it's…
  • Lol, that's a matter of opinion.
  • Again, if you don't want it you don't pay for it. It would only impact you by making the game better because of increased funding. So, basically you don't have a dog in this fight. But for argument's sake, let's look at the canonical accuracy and practicality of it. Are we Captains or Helmsmen? A captain orders a course…
  • Personally, the ability to start at Qo'nos plot a course to Kobali Prime and go make a sandwich would be nice. It would free up time to work on all sorts of things in game as well. It would be a perk worth the price. I'm willing to bet others agree.
  • Pretty much as expected, but of course if you didn't want the feature you wouldn't have to pay for it. You could just enjoy the perks of a game that found a little more financing :-)
  • Nothing wrong with that, you don't have to pay the 10,000 zen! Meanwhile the game is making money of those of us who would like this feature.
