The problem really boils down to 3 things. High DPS builds aren't squishy enough, healing abilities take to long to recharge to facilitate a healing role, and npc's don't use enough abilities often enough to present a need for a specific person to focus on... there's also no snap aggro mechanic that I know of. Attempting a…
I'm not sure we're playing the same game, and granted I've taken a break but the argument when I took my hiatus was all abotu how OP canon's were compared to beams. And as far as DHC vs DC... as far as I remember it was nevere about running one or the other, but both to offset the weapons of same type causing a delay in…

Basically all the major MMO's have have an avoidance based tank. For example, EQ1 has the Monk, WoW has the feral druid, Rift has the Riftstalker, Final Fantasy XI has the Ninja, STO has escorts, EVE has interceptors, assault frigates and heavy assault cruisers and the list could go on ad nauseam.
Just because you could get logged in doesn't mean others could. You got lucky, lots of people got a bum deal, but really, people shouldn't expect to play within the first 72 hours of any expansion release for any mmo. To expect otherwise is to display one's own ignorance and inability to recall any other expansion for any…
Not sure if the support team is simply suffering from extreme overconfidence or outright incompetence, but there's no way they should still have their jobs after the last 3 weeks.
In the end it doesn't really matter, though Tactical Captains have a definite edge when it comes to space combat, and science have an edge in ground combat (thinking back to when STF's were first released and I soloed the borg queen with my medic kit and bat'leth (sp?)). Make whatever sounds fun, play it to 10 and see how…
5 Hours really? You're ******** like that over five hours? It's been like this for me for 3 weeks fo rme and others. I think there was a South Park sketch that covers what they are really doing with the gerbils they have running the server farm.
TBH nothing pisses me off more IRL that being expected to provide updates every half hour let alone fifteen minutes, that means you spent about 5 minutes out of every 15 actually working on the problem, because some impatient **** can't handle a simple "When I know it's up, you'll know it's up"
Personally, it's probably a core switch that blew up and they likely have a spare, but even so it can take a couple hours to prep a new managed switch, and install it (even if you have a recent copy of the startup config). Switch swaps are never fun. Wouldn't surprise me if they gave the Packeld's access to the IOS console…
Perhaps you betray your age, but it's a common idiom for game companies attempting to run game servers on inadequate hardware, sort of like Wierd Al asking if you're PC is powered by a Dorito. And on that thought, someone better send more snacks to the server guys, so they stop chewing on the CPU's.
Or stop trying to pull off "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start" when the servers come up after every patch. The gerbils can't handle it.
