  • The Aetherians are more evil than hawaiian pizza and carrot cake.
  • Personally I view anything beyond Captain as just being a game mechanic, I mean we're already CO what difference does any rank between Lt and Captain make really. Admirals and other Captains asking us to do everything makes a tiny bit more sense that way, though they should respect saviours of the universe more. 18 seemed…
  • I didn't mind the Jefferies tube section, got to have something else to do in between the shoosting. It was the different codes for each door thing that was just odd. Rocking in a corner with the ten million repeats of "take down drones we need to make Tzen-Tarak vulnerable" they really need to tone down the loop. Honestly…
  • I'm thinking of it leaning into the Gorn are multiple races thing. Like the Russth and Ssessekh of beta canon fame. SNW has been leaning into a fair bit of that to do justice to the underdeveloped aspects of TOS. It certainly adheres to canon much more so than Picard season 3 which upon time fr reflection I'm glad STO can…
  • What are your feelings towards the franchise's long history of musical outbursts and tangenital silly episodes? Personally, I don't see Subspace Rhapsody doing anything completely outside the realm of recognition. However if you're not a fan of Our Man Bashir, Bride of Chaotica and Fistful of Datas etc then your point of…
  • Other than the hull textures I think the Destiny and Nomad looked better than these and the Tempest is certainly nicer than the Cyclone for me. I'm not fond of these angular saucer sections. I like mine round and smooth or a nice sophisticated arrowhead but these straight angles just don't do it for me. Kind of sad that…
  • Given the party bus is sat at Risa I'm thinking of calling mine the Kingmaker.
  • Presumably there was an original template or possibly several templates that were assimilated the traditional way. One Queen wouldn't be able to recall being a member of Species 125 otherwise (not that fibbing isn't in their wheelhouse mind you) so they just copy and paste but that had to start somewhere once. Picard…
  • Watching the episode does kind of answer that.
  • I scoured for a clip and yeah it's an animal, a very large cow or deer looking thing that tastes similar to a Bajoran bird apparently. Still it means Borg can consume food if they can't regenerate which means the Queen using the biomatter of drones to survive isn't a massive stretch. Technically it's only cannibalism if…
  • Actually we have seen Borg eat and possibly eating another drone. In VOY Survival Instict. The four drones crash, are cut off from the Collective, they take one of the killed drones away from the crash site and in the next scene are shown cooking and eating "biomatter."
  • I mean we know the Borg have transtemporal and transdimensional knowledge/capabilities so they'll always be back. Like the Reverse Flash, just can't get rid. Arcturus said the Borg were like a force of nature right, one storm gone doesn't mean another won't kick up.
  • You bite your tongue
  • Hasn't that only been down to time travel and grand theft starship. Not that an unprecedented ship shortage couldn't cause such a thing to happen. That or we have a legacy of A B C D E F D G F H I J etcetera
  • See, hope is not lost. Look at how easy you made that make sense. All is possible.
  • A lot can happen in 10 years. Granted we've had the two different portrayals of Seven of Nine for a while that's just a character inconsistency but tell me they don't happen in the shows. Tuvok got promoted by one rank, he's only a commodore, compared to how long it took him to reach captain it's a fast leap but hardly…
  • Hmmm. I'm still of the belief it was a bad decision for several reasons, but you can see how much he cares about all corners of the fanbase. An extremely rare thing.
  • Very light gymnastics actually, about as much as is required to make a cup of tea.
  • Ah thank you, I don't play multiplayer content so that one's on me.
  • In the nicest possible way to everyone who feels this way, declaring STO an alternate timeline is defeatist and creatively bankrupt. It's very easily reconciled as the other thread explains.
  • Starfleet refusing to help the Empire when the Undine start doing their thing despite all he's done for them could be an irreconciable betrayal in his eyes. If we assume he's doing the horizontal monster mash with Grilka like the original path to 2409 said (though a good chunk of that has been contradicted in game before…
  • To be honest there's very little that needs to be done to keep STO aligned, enough creativity can solve almost any problem. It's not like things like character ages (like Tuvok), crew compliments (Voyager noticably but not exclusively), ship sizes (various) and all sorts of things haven't been prone to inconsistencies over…
  • I was also disappointed by it. Probably the only downside to the season for me. I felt it sort of cheapened the legacy of the name Titan. Plus it's supposedly an old refit so it doesn't feel quite as deserving of the name. Then again in season 2 they called the Stargazer a refit but the original was in the museum so who…
  • I can't make spoiler tags work so never mind
  • BEWARE OF SPOILERS AND DUMB IDEAS What if the whole Changeling thing actually makes STO's plot make a little more sense. They deal with Changeling infiltrators and then a couple of years later the Klingons get 8472'd but Starfleet are like nah we dealt with this problem already. Makes more sense than the current one where…
  • I remember that event, but I remember a lot of things that are sadly no longer in the game may they requiscat in all the pace, and removal tends to mean not canon. Although some removed missions remain canon in my heart but that is a brand new subject with a brand new tangent.
  • So far there really hadn't been anything too drastic. The F's launch date is never uttered in a currently in-game mission and the person talking to Sela really could be anyone. As far as I remember they only say "Enterprise" or "Voyager" in dialogue so I guess you could swap models out if absolutely needed. Treknobabble…
  • If they do follow through with shelving the F then its successors are going to need much longer lifespans or else the J will be in service a century earlier than it should be. It's so dumb their decision to do this. It's too bad Midnight was so long ago or the change to the timeline could have rippled a new Enterprise into…
  • > @rattler2 said: > But then it wouldn't be a direct counterpart to the USS Voyager. While an ISS Enterprise is canon, and we can probably assume the ISS Defiant is the same one that was built in DS9... they probably used the comics as inspiration for the ISS Voyager. One of the comics iirc had the ISS Starbreaker serving…
