• For the white textures thing try switching "Screen-space ambient occlusion" on and off when it happens. It worked for my wife's machine. No restart required.

• My wife had the missing texture and "white out" issue. I fixed it apparently by turning from off to on... "Screen-space ambient occlusion" in the video options.
