I agree. But I also think that much can be said for the entertainment industry chasing $ rather than good fiction. Seems to me most of the industry has gotten people stoked on action rather than story. It's much easier to blow something up than to creatively write your way out of a bad situation.
Netflix uses pirate video sites as one of their metrics for how well a show is projected to do. They also use them to determine what direction video entertainment is heading, and have been very successful using this method. That being said, some of those sites show some dismal views for TRIBBLE. When sites with 40 or 50…
I thought TRIBBLE was just that. An TRIBBLE.. Garbage. JJ has no more business messing up Star Trek than Burton had TRIBBLE up Batman. The Klingon's looked awful, and spoke as though they had a mouth full of marbles. Just bad. The uniforms were more style than function, and looked like a bad art decco experiment. While I…
The JJ canon is horrid I will agree. I think it was mentioned somewhere that those movies were more or less a "what if" scenario, and are irrelevant as far as canon goes.
The only time I ever have this issue in Windows 7 is when I play full screen. For me, playing full screen windowed mode, has solved this issue. However, power saver features also play a role. I always run with them all off.
Yeah, it is kind of sad. Makes STO feel more an more like an arcade game than ever. It would have been better to include the tech rather than the actual ships. Much like they did with the Voth ships. That made more sense.
Most of the recent Star Trek movies have been pointless. Seems they are trying to steer it in a direction that clashes with what most of us have come to know.
Maybe there isn't a paradox at all. Consider the argument that every possible timeline exists at the same time in parallel. Is the weapon actually changing the timeline, or simply shifting it's perspective to an alternate one? Multiverse theory implies this. Every possible outcome already exists. Wrap your head around that…
A better solution would be to make all players on your ignore list invisible. This is a solution employed by some MMO's in response to just such a problem. Griefer can parade around like an idiot, but if he's on your ignore list, you simply can't see him. He gets to remain stupid, and you get to go about your business like…
I'm thinking PHPBB would have been a much better choice for a free forum software. It's been around a lot longer, and has far better features. Vanilla is.. well, vanilla.
Just curious... Why would anyone buy C-Store ships before they hit end game? The ships you're given are more than adequate. Especially since those ships you buy become useless once you out level them. Besides, you can hit level 20 in just a few hours easily.
Rather than add brighter lighting, I think it would make more sense to add hull lighting, and like astrometrics, make it a toggle. It would help us see the ships better.
Why would Belaana be a KDF General? That makes no sense. She was always the least Klingon of all Klingon's. Not to mention Klingon's weren't very tolerant of half breeds. You couldn't exactly make her an Admiral in the Federation either. Keep in mind that she was in the maquis. You can't make her out rank poor Harry Kim..
It always disturbed me that in almost every sci fi movie or show, you could hear explosions in space. Adding more sound effects to what is supposed to be the vacuum of space, can be rather unimersive. I'd like it even better if they had a "space sounds" slider that could be set to off. I'm just curious as to how many…
I also like it better this way. Feels a lot better than being stuffed into a shoe box, and never being quite sure if there was any point to using slipstream.
I'm half hoping that the fixes are in tomorrow's update. Even so, it would be nice to hear from them. The lack of communication between Cryptic, and the consumer is starting to seem like SOE. It's frustrating to be ignored so much.
I think it's pretty obvious that it isn't on our end. I can see the chat scrolling and going on normal while I see the connection error counting down on the screen. Always seems to be most obvious when in an instance.
I think you may be over simplifying things a bit. First off, a commercial contract most often binds the provider to a rider that the service provider is responsible for any loss of business as a result of bad, or interrupted service. Cogent could stand to lose a substantial amount depending on the contract. Not to mention…
Finally figured out why it's so laggy. For the first time ever, I found myself stuck in a login queue twice. All Cryptic had to do was come out and say they were experiencing issues with high user volume, and that would have been fine. Seems the servers have been very overloaded despite what others on the forums have been…
