  • Can confirm
  • It's not just in the queue. I've been having regular 8-9 second freezes just trying to run missions.
  • Given that something is clearly still broken, it's unlikely that there will be anything until the end of the working day in California (at the earliest).
  • It'll be a while yet - it's not even 0800 Pacific time yet. No one's at work in the Cryptic offices yet. Give them time.
  • My guess is that someone forgot to temporarily hook up any promotion missions for the Temporal Agent faction beyond the Tier 2 one that's part of the transition sequence. Actually, that may be good news; it seems to indicate that TAs will have a separate promotion sequence from base Federation characters...
  • Just at a guess, I'd say career accolades haven't been hooked up yet for TOS captains. As they are technically a separate faction, the switches will have to be tweaked to recognize them. Heh, priority probably has been getting the new missions in first; stuff like accolades is minor details to be dealt with when the more…
  • As much as it isn't lore-friendly, I seriously doubt this feature makes it into the game. When you stop to consider how many people play the game, and how many of them have multiple characters, and the fact that each one of those characters would have to have a completely unique insignia, that gets nightmarishly complex in…
  • It's not. Watch the "News" posts; when they add new missions to the Tribble build, they've been writing news posts about those missions. That's a good way to tell what's in.
  • The blue TOS torpedo is in as of this patch, but the catch is you have to create a new character to get them; existing characters' ships won't have them. As for the "modern"-weapons issue, I wouldn't stress out about that just yet. We're still extremely early in the early-access cycle for this. What's on Tribble now isn't…
  • Bad news: the film-grain effect is probably integral to the TOS levels. Drozana doesn't have it on a 2410 character, at least for me, so I don't think it's in the engine in general... For the record, I'm opposed to it on immersion grounds, as well.
  • Actually, per the original episode, Gav's body should be in the Jeffries tube. (It wasn't, at least for me; it was sort of floating in front of it.) Also, for the devs: I'm thinking that what's going on with the version mismatch deal is that for whatever reason the launcher is glitching and reading the wrong manifest, so…
  • Do note that in addition to the files our compatriot has so graciously shared, if you have previously run Tribble on the DX11 setting, you'll also need to force it to revert to DX9.
  • I've noticed that message, too, although my graphics seem to be running a tiny bit better. I've got a feeling it's related to the issue we've been working on here... Since that appears to be a DX11 issue, it makes sense to me that it would affect the shaders as well. (Apologies if that's a "Captain Obvioius" statement;…
  • The way I see it, the more options we can test to get it running (and the more that fail, maybe...), the closer we can come to isolating what the problem is. The more we isolate what the problem is, the faster the dev team can get a fix up (and get back to giving us new content to test :P).
  • Well, now that we seem to have isolated the problem, maybe it'll be easier to get a fix pushed out at some point.
  • Okay, I can confirm that it's a DX11 error. Switching my Live install to DX9 and then copying the gameprefs file to the Playtest install fixed the crash issue (at least for me). EDIT: D'oh! Double post. Didn't even think about it...
  • Nope, Safe Mode didn't work for me, but I can't confirm that it was trying to launch in DX9. I'm going to try forcing my Live install to use DX9 and then copying the prefs file over. I'll post in a bit with the results.
