I agree, no worse at all, and yet..... it receives a harsher penalty. Also again after the penalty is leveed private queing with that friend became disabled. It's overly harsh in that a comparable offense is given a lesser impact.

Except we aren't SURE it's DPS. It may be any number of criteria from number of enemy ships, to time on the cooldown after the mission spent AFK. I think it'll be interesting if an escalation of penalties were set up. Surely as soon as the leechers find out how to script around this they will do so, so the algorithm will be modified an the false positives will increase. Be careful what you wish for. Also it prevents the forming of a private que with the player under the AFK penalty. A lot of good discussion going now on how this can be improved upon. Ultimately it is not that an AFK system should not exist, but that the penalty should be measured and fully considered on its impact.

Again, even the allowance to continue private ques for the 3 of us would have been sufficient. It seems the ban extends to all team up content on the que.

One of us went AFK. I'm sure you just made an honest mistake there though and didn't try to play with your understanding of the details so clearly laid out. Further, if they would allow it I could probably take the Mirror Universe event Solo, that's not the point.

To clarify, my suggestion of a 1hr cool-down would be to implement that AFTER their return, for those making the point of some STF's taking (on the long side) of 30~ minutes. I do see your point though Deniedex, I still feel it is a bit much, at the very least allow the person on cooldown to join privately organized events…

Doffing brings up my next point, we are unable to open up our OWN private matches with that team for 2 hrs, again, a penalty nonfunctional. Annemarie, condescension will get you nowhere. Please point out where the AFK system is set to trigger after a 15minute time frame? Best I can figure from reading threads is that it's based on damage dealt over time and again possibly healing done over time. That's fine, theoretically we could have defeated the entire match and her leave and trigger the same penalty…

My point is, simply put, the penalty is far to harsh for the crime in this instance. A 2 hour cool-down for afking in an event that lasts one hour? That's a bit silly to begin with.
