  • I went ahead and got a little Oddy from them, I'm actually pretty pleased with the detail. That being said, I feel like it would have been better in one of their XL sizes. Also I didn't get the little sheet that's supposed to have a code for a T5 oddy. Not a huge loss, but still kind of a bummer that I missed out on…
  • I got mixed feelings on this. I mean, progression is nice, free items are nice, but more energy types seems counter-intuitive. When new rep sets come out it's always interesting seeing people make new Tetryon or new Polaron builds to match. Or mixing and matching existing builds. This feels like it would make rep sets...…
  • I don't like ST:D. I understand some people do. Some people like the writing. I don't. I kind of like the ship designs, out of place as they may seem (even ENT managed to make the NX-01 still look older, in a way). I don't like the Klingons, some do. Can I combat the fact that this is now Star Trek canon? No. I cannot. So…
  • Likewise, usually only when I try to play a queue though. Got a leaver's penalty for two of the 5 crashes. :(
  • "‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Almost Doubled CBS All Access Mobile Subscription Revenue" uh, no frickin' doi, it's a Star Trek series, so many of us Trekkies went into this wanting to have hope and to give the series a shot. A lot of us are still holding out hope that the series will improve and this is just a slow start. But…
  • See, this is what I'm hoping for. I'm a little (okay a lot) annoyed by the Klingon overhaul, but... I'm going to hold out hope, that there is a bit of the Trek spark in this show. I've seen.... promise. But so far the show has yet to really make itself shine in any way in my eyes. but then TNG and Voyager were slow starts…
  • I can't even get that far, I'm stuck at the launcher with an "Unable to Athenticate: Connection to the account server timed out". My internet is running fine. And the message pops up almost immediately after inputting my password. I smell a server problem.
  • You know what though, I don't blame him. This TRIBBLE was fine before, people were doing it all the time for vendor trash (it's really easy to get a cargo bay full of the stuff if you Elite it frequently). But suddenly people are flying out of their shiny new sector with its sub-par patrol missions and enjoying old content…
  • Why did you make the bioplasma torp launchers invulnerable but leave the HP of the freakin' angry walnet still over 2 million? Cut that HP in half or something, it takes FOREVER to crack that nut even with high-DPS teams, and makes the STF itself not really worth the time.
  • MY biggest problem with this STF is the enormous HP of the planet killer itself. Even with uber high DPS, that thing takes freaking FOREVER to kill. And now they've made the bioplasma torpedo launchers untargetable and invulnerable, so that adds another level of annoyance to fighting the final giant angry walnet. That HP…
  • The comparison shots are nice, and I suppose this is an ok fleet optional, but to be honest, anything after the balcony upgrade has been kind of.. meh. Most of these feel like they're trying to mimic Joint Command too much. Whereas the Balcony it was a case of "oh wow I can see everything from the tip of this platform,…
  • My only complaint with this is that is it, for intents and purposes, just a mirror of the lounge in Allied Command. This is kind of disappointing. I was kind of concerned when I saw the layout of the interior of the sphere, but hoped/assumed that we were going to be getting more than just copy-paste from the main spire. So…
  • Could be worse. Could be like Scouting Force. Even when people have the option to do the daily for that mission, they won't take it, particularly because of how the mission is set up (i.e. the part where the requirement to kill number of ships is offset by the fact that the number of ships that spawn upon this objective…
  • Ah yes, there's also this, on TOP of what the Voth think of the federation (vermin, an insult to Doctrine, etc. etc.) so to be honest it all kinda matches up. *casually looks at how invasive and violent Janeway got when they got hit with the Omega Directive*
  • It's also quite possible they tried. But also remember that the Voth consider earth ships to be an affront to their doctrine. Especially if the idea (a.k.a. heresy of doctrine) spread past that one poor mook who they bullied into a corner on VOY. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they shot first as soon as they…
  • Also don't forget that most carriers (at least the Atrox and the Vo'Quv do) get a few full array of subsystem targetting I. Might not seem like much but even level 1 can occasionally knock out shields or weapons, allowing either your pets or your teammates to lay into them with less worries.
  • Ok I know I'm kind of interrupting an in-canon conversation about the Voth but... I couldn't help it I will be playing this theme while fighting those robo-dinos and you can't stop me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx9Wg03arxQ
  • I just had this happen, currently verifying files now. I was just posting things on the exchange when it happened.
  • I've had this problem too, though it's intermitten. Some days it's ok, some days I get disconnected fairly frequently. All I can do is shrug it off and hope it doesn't do it while I'm doing something important, lol
  • I didn't distort your words, I took what was presented to me and went from that. If you presented your information differently from what you were intending, I'm sorry. Dougherty did state that, yes, but he was also keeping a lot of things hidden from the council, no doubt to proceed with the mission without anyone being…
  • General Order was used in the TOS, a series that, despite the fact that it founded a series that we all know and love, was laden with plot holes and continuity errors. Canonically, yes, there was a General Order 24 that called for "The extinction of all life on a planet", but given the context of such an order, as well as…
  • Are you freaking serious, Cryptic? I just NOW get past the login queue, play for maybe 5-10 minutes, and then suddenly you're bringing the shard down for maintenance again? I know you have to fix things, but the timing... THE TIMING. It hurts meeeeee :(
  • That's why you rent server space. Many MMOs do it for launch weeks. WoW, LoL, etc. etc. It's actually pretty common for MMO-running companies to do so
  • I agree, despite all the hiccups and whining (myself being guilty of the last one) it's actually a very solid game. Obviously, or otherwise I wouldn't still be playing. XD
  • The Development team did a great job. I played a fair bit earlier this morning, before the queue started getting into the 5 digits, and I liked what I saw. I was able to play the new Fleet Actions (though that shuttle/fighter colony defense one is hard to figure out unless you have Point Defense on your small craft, ha…
  • I guess "we're working to get everyone into the game" is really just "we're kicking out these silver chuckleheads and making room for subscribers.. and we STILL can't fit all of you in, HA HA HA HA HA HA *literally laughs all the way to the bank*"
  • 10431 out of 18704. This is batsh*t insane. And I tried to log in as soon as the server was back up. They should have rented more servers. At least for a week. That doesn't seem like that hard of a concept, does it?
  • I didn't even want a perfect launch, just a launch where I could play for 5 minutes before getting kicked off the server and unable to do anything else.
  • restarting my launcher rendered me unable to log into PW, as the launcher will not accept my password any more. Panicking, I logged into the PW website immediately, which uses the same password, and logged in fine. So there is something wrong on STO's end, methinks.
  • Even better when I re-started my launcher it won't let me log back in, telling me that my password is invalid or incorrect (even though it clearly still works as a PW log-in)
