"Aesthetically Pleasing" facts are absolutely irrelevant ;) strength should always beat design i used both, fleet assult cruiser and avenger, and for me the avenger does outstrip the assult cruiser in almost all important states and it is really a very beasty ship as beam- or cannon- or torpedoboat ... and makes much fun…

within your instructions the pets act completely independed to the carrier and do only benefit from some passive carrier-healing traits (for instance T6 Sarr Theln mastery trait, Obelisk with 3pc set) or active boff abilities that you push on them :)
