I didn't get to do all that I had hoped to do today. There is always tomorrow. :) I understand game time lost - but I would rather they fix it as they are able. I have worked on computers/networks, and internet security for over 20 years...I have basic principles of coding, but overall, the end user are who you cater…
Don't get me wrong, I understand how it can be frustrating, but consider this...if they found the issue that long ago, it takes time to either get the equipment (if equipment needed) to be 'ready' to add to any domain or the code to apply a hotfix (as that is what Trendy suggested in a post). It takes a bit of time. If it…
A little insight of how I logged in a little bit ago... It took it forever to go from the Delta Rising 'loading' screen to kick over to the Character selection screen. I would say, somewhere between 5-9 minutes of just allowing the computer time to do what it needed. I am sure that the engineers/devs have something ready…
I would say, they have peeps on this stuff 24/7, but at the same time, would it be a good thing to pull a game down every time something blurps? I understand what you are saying, but at the same time, writing code, ensuring it works, and then actually implementing it doesn't always allow for such a 'cut and dry' aspect of…
HAHAHA!!!! too funny. It is doom to those who allow it. :) Just kidding. lol I think some may not understand/know why anyone would do that with a live game sometimes. I think that is the issue that peeps grapple with. But really, it isn't that bad, most of the time. lol :) Keep up the great work Captain Smirk - to all you…
A rollback is similar to what you would do with System Restore on a Windows system. Restore the code prior to 'bad' code. (I dislike the word 'bad' there. lol), but essentially, depending on how far back they utilize, when it was saved, etc, would determine what is 'removed' from the code, hoping to clear away the errors.…
I don't know about everyone, and this isn't being mean, but as a Fleet Admiral in 3 different fleets, I put out in all of our chats should I see forum posts about changes, downtime, or ingame messages. I do this, not to hear myself talk, but in the event that someone doesn't see them. For me, I am okay with them taking the…
Hiya Bran!! Been awhile. Great to hear and know you and Trendy were on the Community side. :) With luck, you both won't have to throw that dreaded - we are working - for a few weeks. :) haha!!! See you all in game.
I do see logic in your response, just saying, bashing the person like Trendy on the forums for something that she may not be solely responsible for or having any or no knowledge of is the problem. I agree, something is amiss with the equipment or software, whether in their domain, or outside, just seemed a bit much. That…
I played that so much...didn't care that it didn't have NEW content after the first 50 times completing it. haha!!! But, yeah, would be a nice 'side game' to play when bored. lol Now, where did I pack that box?
I am not an expert on Server side, but let me just say, the bashing of the Cryptic community is simply deplorable. They post here to give 'what they know at the time' information, but in the aspect of company policies of ANY company, if an issue is 'internal' or a result of a source linked to internal situations, it is…
The error log shows the following: 140313 19:01:53 15 [1] ESC : The patchclientlib is internally recording error code : 36\nA file was locked that could not be open for writing - Could not delete previously renamed file (C:/Users/Public/Games/Cryptic Studios/Star Trek Online/Live/xinput1_3.dll.deleteme) 140313 19:01:53 17…
I originally patched the game, hit engage, at the Cryptic loading screen, hangs a bit, like it usually does after a patch, <then it crashes with support window - not normal> I did a Force Verify, got Error 36 - File locked. Still unable to play I am currently 're-patching' after turning off the On-Demand patching, so I…
I didn't post that to emphasize anything, other than the point I was trying to make. But, if you must bash me, then feel free...I won't lose any sleep over it. I was simply saying that the folks who work these 'back-side' servers are doing the best they can do, on the fly, at the time, and while we are enjoying the work…
Definitely Brandon and Team...since I do not know all of your names, you are all important in this fight against the Tribbles. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. May the weekend NOT have any issues, so that you all may enjoy the down time. :) Peace.
some people do seem to expect the infinite RIGHT NOW sort of thing when it comes to computers and programming... It TAKES TIME for a patch to be integrated into a WORKING server and THEN it is pushed out to the clients....we log in as CLIENTS...not the core matrix....give it about 30-45 minutes to catch up to you...THEN,…
They have these small issues from time to time after updates, I am positive they are checking into it. You can give her everything you have, sometimes, she will give it back to you. Just watch out for the exploding console in front of you, and hope you are a regular bridge officer and not the ensign bring the drinks. :)
The server disconnects have increased. I wasn't doing anything, ingame, yet...but wanted to at least point out that something is causing this to increase. Thanks.
