You might as well just equip dual beam banks instead of 1 wide angle cannon. At least then you could use the T3 weapon enhance power and the T3 attack pattern.

Also no need to start closing a radation gateway until the lead transport is about 16 km from it, which is about the distance the transports travel while you are closing the gateway, otherwise another gateway will open about 1 sec later right infront of the transports. And since it takes a couple of secs to close it that…
