  • There is NOTHING "hostile to new players" about it. Once you EARN an event ship you will be able to claim it on all your characters and reclaim it just like older players.
  • Seems to be issues with EVERY patch any more. What gives?
  • A playable enemy faction with a true open world war!
  • While I like most of these suggestions, what I'd really like to see is a playable enemy faction with a real war feel. Make certain areas of the map (or instances) where you can attack, or be attacked by, the opposing faction ships. Make fleet stations attackable. A real war I believe, would make PVP much more interesting…
  • While I agree that the current individual at the "helm of this game" has been, since taking that helm, been nothing but detrimental to STO but I think it's equally Cryptic/PWE's fault for allowing him to take it down hill. Just count me among those NO LONGER PLAYING until some serious changes are made.
  • Interesting. Now, if I recall correctly, when all the raging was going on about T6 and T5U ships we were told that all new content would be playable with a T5 ship. This thread sure doesn't sound like that's true. LMAO! Cryptic stikes (out) again.
  • I guess if they don't value people after testing for them for several years now then they won't value us after release. So be it. There are other games testing. v:mad::mad:
  • Whoa there 'buddy'. Want the best without deserving it? Annoy people who know how to play? Who are you to decise who deserves what? I've leveled more charcters than most, done more testing than most, but you decide I don't know how to play? You make alot of assumptions for someone so "superior" to other players. Now, Im…
  • Sorry dude, how do you not see this as pay to win? The only way to upgrade a T5 ship is to pay. (And they have already clearly stated that an upgrade will not be as good as a T6 ship) The only way mentioned to obtain a T6 ship is to pay. That is nothing BUT Pay to win since if you don't pay you are automatically at a…
  • Pay to win has arrived at STO. Nuff said.
  • LMAO here. Making money? Sure, great business sense to sell a money maker. PWE bought a NAME they could build on. STAR TREK. They made the change in business model it needed (F2P from P2P) and built on it. It's called vision. And actually, PWE bought Cryptic who owned STO at the time. Not Atari.
  • Funny how everyone 'forgets' that STO WAS a pay to play game. One that could NOT afford to continue relying on that 'accountable commitment to the game' to exist, let alone expand. People should try to remember that before discounting the financial contribution many silver players make to this game. As for the closed…
  • Are you serious? You want me to test a new system for something I'm not even remotely interested in AND you want me to hunt down "ingredients" too? No thanks.
  • Not if they'd use "activate dates" in their coding. Pre patch on Monday and become Active on the specified date/time.
  • Perhaps it got ugly so fast because the words "stability update" were used and people have learned that those words mean matters will become worse. People expect another four hour down time tomorrow, followed by a weekend of random disconnects and "unexpected outages" But I'm not ranting or raging at you. I do have a…
  • Thats funny. I just read Cryptic/PWE's rules. I found no such "rule".
  • I have, unforunately, come to the sad conclusion that our devs are incapable of finishing anything. Like the husband who begins a thousand 'home improvement' projects, yet completes NONE. A really great expansion was brought out, LOR, then set to the sidelines in favor of voth and undine. Our devs are great at starting…
  • Laughing harder than before!!!!! Seriously? You're using the shows/movies as an example? This is STO.... not the real Star Trek!:P
  • The real question is why ARE WE STILL HAVING TO REMODULATE WEAPONS AT ALL? Seriously, does anyone honestly believe that after all this time Starfleet, the KDF, and the Romulans would not have developed a weapon that automatically remodulates to combat the Borg? To think they would not is simply an insult to common sense.…
  • Yes. And by then you'll be so sick of grinding the content the equipment will be useless. This whole thing is too funny!
  • Of course, you just might see a lot less people 'blowing up' IF Cryptic would ever actually fix the loadouts. You create a build, including weapons, consoles, DOFFS, BOFFS, and YOUR BIG TRAY. You save it. Then when you change maps and go into battle only to find that your entire tray is changed from what you saved.…
  • You want to play with the big boys? You want to feel "equal' to someone who's been a lev 50 for 3 or 4 years? Then put in the grind they did to EARN it! EARNING what you get IS "justice". Whining is not.
  • Have to agree. Weapons have their own tray and there's no need/use for them in the big tray. But what I find even more annoying is when you set up your tray, lock it and then the next time you log on the sytem changes it back. Its totally irritating that "Lock tray" is so useless!
  • Actually, Fed and KDF DO get Romulan gear. That's what the Romulan Rep was all about. Now as to the Feds and KDF "protecting" the Romulan Republic. Have you not played through ALL the factions? My Romulan does far more defending the Fedearation (running Fed episodes) than my Starfleet officer does running Romulan so called…
  • WOW. I knew this thread was coming. Didn't take long for the "it's OP! OMG! Nerf it". I'll reply with one simple question. What, prey tell, is the point of new weapons and equipment if it's not more powerful than what we had before? If all things remain static and equal there IS NO POINT in grinding a new rep.
  • EXCELLENT post!!! I always thought it was rediculous to fight an enemy to earn the weapons to fight THAT enemy. At that point, what's the point of earning the weapons? We've already beaten the enemy! But this is "Cryptic common sense". You know, those same guys who think Romulans should have to, or would need to earn the…
  • Sure. Power creep. Making new lev 50's 'feel' equal to long term lev 50's. Nice excuses. So let's just take it to it's logical conclusion. First, let's just Start every new player at level 50. Second, let's allow no customization of ships. Third, let's eliminate the Reputation system entirely. No rep system means no powers…
  • ^^^^^^^^^THIS!!!! I don't know how many tyimes I've found myself in the same position. Trying to do my job while being swamped by enemy ships and getting no support. But then again,, we have to remember that 'Career Specialization' is dead in STO.
  • Independence. nuff said
  • There is no power creep in the game. There are just those who put in the time, effort, and grind to EARN the powers they have (for a FEW MORE WEEKS) and then there are those who just reached level 50 and have been whining for months that they don't have those powers. Unfortunately, Cryptic has decided to penalize those who…
