I don't know if it will help, but along with powercycling your router, did you try flushing your dns cache? (ipconfig /flushdns) Again, NO idea if it would actually do any good at all...but it can't hurt.

Same here. Constant disconnects in CO, and STO is so bad I can't even patch the game. Dallas resident, Time Warner customer.

At this point I can only imagine that what money Cryptic is pulling in from this part of the country will soon be drying up, since no one in this region can actually connect to their servers. te9-4.ccr01.dfw03.atlas.cogentco.com is where the problem is occurring for those of us in Texas. Poll it for awhile and you'll see that it intermittently suffers packet loss, anywhere from 1-10%, along with a consistently high latency.

I don't know how you expect Cryptic to "patch" a problem that's being caused by Cogent's crappy hardware and/or routing metrics. That's sort of like me blaming my fridge for brown-outs caused by the power company's negligence. You have a right to be mad, but direct that anger in the right direction: Cogent.

I suspect PWE uses Cogent for the same reason anyone else does: cost. For a laugh, hit google and search "Cogent sucks". The only IT ppl out there who don't trash talk Cogent either work for them, or have work because of them. I suppose you can write PWE/Cryptic a letter and implore them to find a more reliable provider,…

No matter where you live, you eventually have to go through Cogent's network, because Cryptic uses them. Cogent is notorious for having decent service in some areas, and consistently AWFUL service in others. The only thing you can do, if you lack the ability to use a decent traceroute/polling application, is call your ISP…
