Had this issue with my fleetmate too. Couldn't get past the login screen until I verified files and then it started over again.

The issue is it's failing the first optional before the entity even sends out the pulse. Something is causing it to count ships destroyed before the pulse. The problem after that is people getting pulled into an already failed pve. Why would anyone want to stick around for no reward.
