First of all, this is highly unfair. Bort has made a lot of changes/fixes based on player feedback. Feedback he got here. Polaron procs, phaser procs, mines, siphons++ and more are in the pipeline. Sure he doesn't always succeed, but at least he listnes to us! Secondly, he has earned respect by showing us respect. He has…
That's just it. Communicating with customers is the job of branflakes. Borticus can perform his duties without saying one word in the forums, should he choose to. Still, he chooses to talk to us. That's why we're lucky! :)
I think he just accidentally burped up Cryptics poorly designed excuse why PvP don't have fleet rewards. A standard copy/paste job from an internal memo. When we pointed out why their logic was flawd, he admitted this. I still hope "PvP Reputation" is the next one after "Omega rep" and "Romulan rep". (Hope! Not believe!)
Well, when I do get a FvK arena started.... ...if I'm F, half of my team warps out after being siphoned. ...if I'm K, Half of the fed team warp out because one of my teammates is a siph'er
Sure PvP will become more valuable as a source of Dili. This will lead to: 1. More players coming just for the dili. 2. Some of these new players will be wiped a few times, and then become regular AFKers. 3. Some will face similarly inexperienced players, and will have a blast of a n00b fight, allowing the monster of PvP…
All good advice Soph! "Worse" is subject to how you look at it. Different is what I would say. It's an MMO, the rules change with every patch. Every few weeks, it's a new game. What was good before is TRIBBLE now, and what was TRIBBLE before is good now. And frankly, if the game didn't constantly change, I'd be bored of it…
True... 5 siphon carriers on each team would lock down the match completely...and indefinately... There is a reason FvK queues are so dead atm. Siphon drones are making the game unplayable.
I applaud the effort, but I have one thing to say about getting more players to PvP... rewards! As long as we're forced to spend time on other things to get what we want, people will not be inclined to PvP... :( I wonder... will there ever be a "PvP reputation" system? What would make PvP full of people: - Better reward…
Sure, the fact that the pets have 20k hull+shields, and spawn every 11 seconds doesnt make a difference, right? I say give the tric mines the HP of Danubes, or give the Danubes the HP of Tric mines! Also, give them the same launch speed. Then the counters would be fair! :D
now that's constructive feedback... tell me... why are you writing in this forum at all? You appear to have no wish or hope for the future of STO, and now you just want to drag as many people as you can down with you? Wouldn't it be better if you just moved on to "that better game" and started posting in it's forum instead?
if this bug has "always" been here, it must have meen seriously infrequent, as I, after 100s of matches never experienced it or heard of it... But in the match we had the other day, the traylock was pretty much happening on every death. Either something else got broken, or there is a combo causing this, that hasn't been…
yes, i think one of my guys had SS slotted. SS1 I think. Did you get traylock too? uhm... wait you didn't die, did you? Or did we get one kill? hmm I'm just trying to figure out if there is some combo that does this, or just SS on it's own.
Well PvP has never been as unbalanced as it was in those first months, with complete shutdowns and cannons delivering uber-spike damage. I think people just got better at exploiting imbalances over time. Still, you don't need a lot of flashy stuff to rule PvP these days. A vo'quv and some siphon drones is all you need! :D…
I don't suppose anyone from TSI remembers facing a OmegaXIII premade a few days ago? You had two carriers on your team, and used Trics and seemingly a lot of SS. If you remember, can you shed some light on the details of what you did? Versions of SS? (I know SS2 was used, but was ! or 3 used too?) Dispersal Patterns for…
nono, stretch your memory further back! A week before season 2 launched, we had a big pvp tournament that we called "End of balance". Ofc, it turned out to be a complete demonstration that balance never had existed, and it really became a contest in who could TRIBBLE out the most chroniton mines... I still remember…
Yup, Siphons have basically killed FvK :( I prefer to play Kling, but most of the matches someone with a Siphon Carrier ends up on my team, and the greater part of the Fed team warps out after the first engagement. And when I play Fed, even queuing FvK is out of the question, as I always end up facing 2 carriers drainig…
Bah, empty words. Exactly what people said when Dili was introduced, when lockbox ships came, when the fleet system came (an even bigger grind) and now with this small addition. Still, people adapt and learn to play the game in it's new version as well. Grinding a character to the top of the tree is still no slower than…
hmm.. I also have a 1 mill hit... http://imageshack.us/a/img441/5363/1mill.jpg still, before the new DPs, the last time I saw tric mines used successfullly in PvP was during the Scramble-feast period. (season 1.2?) But as I keep saying, splash-to-all would fix it fine.
If DPB didn't affect tric mines at all, as some players seem to think, it would be even more useless. If they could splash to all, except each other, I could think of a lot of ways to use them.
hmm... interresting point... How does this work with tric torp spread? I'm pretty sure they don't kill each other. For some reason, I've never seen my tric torp splash hurt my tric mines, but that may be because they're not armed yet... I guess they could just make the tric mines impervious to Tricobalt damage? It's not…
Nono, not aggro on everything, they should only target hostiles, but when they splode, the explosion should affect everyone close enough. Friend or foe. Hence the splash term. Then it would work just like the torp version. This would fix everything except the Temporal Backstep, but this should be addressed seperately…
My view on this: If you have any Tech that can give you a set you want, you'd definately be better off buying it. After the conversion, there will be a Dili cost involved. If you have a lot of something, you'll probably be better off selling most of it. The reason for this is the conversion rate will not be a fixed ratio.…
Tricobalt Torps have splash-to-all. Tricobalt Mines have splash-to-hostile only. This is the major and the only issue with Tric mines. If they gave the mines splash-to-all, it would take a lot of skill to get good mileage from them. The problem right now, is that you can spam them randomly and still get decent value for it.
