  • I think everything works out fine if you make Technicians either cap at 1 per roster or reduce the % chance or cooldown reduction to 50% for purples. This still keeps the skill viable for horrible bridge officer setup cruisers that want to PVE, but less consistently superpowered in PVP settings. Any thoughts...
  • If they found a way to improve shield stripping abilities in high-level sci abilities....it would go a long way to helping sci ships work in both pvp and pve.

  • Another interesting idea would be an ability that added particle generator skill to increase weapons damage on sci ships. This could be explained as new technology only added to some of the more advanced scientific vessels

  • Has anyone experimented with an all photon build with the new Voth weapons set that boosts photon torpedo damage (and eventually crit/severity)? I'm thinking of moving my sci from transphasics to photons just to try it out.
  • I think the Wells may have the edge if you do an all-kinetic build with no tac boffs. The extra turn rate makes a difference and can save you from needing a jump console for SNB. What does interest me is the thought of having TSS3, ST3, and A2SIF2 on a somewhat mobile ship.... Bottom line, it's hard to pass up the mobility…
  • I have heard of some folks mixing in the Nukara ground sets with the Omega set. Are they talking about the Nukara Strikeforce armor because of the heal or the Strikeforce shield because of the dodge? The set looks like it would be great mixed 2 part with the Omega armor/weapon...
  • It's too bad they didn't make all traits have a ground and space component. This would allow for diversity but yet keep some semblance of parity across both play formats.

  • Wow, I totally agree on the dodge change. It is very frustrating that race makes such a huge difference on the ground vs. space pvp where just about every race is "equal" with the latest trait changes.

Regarding traits, I tend to focus on space pvp but want to be ok on the ground too... Are there specific traits that I "must have" like accurate and elusive are for space pvp? Thanks in advance!

  • After playing with the new icons in game...I wish there was a toggle to use the old ones. The new ones are far too similar for me to quickly switch gear and determine quality level (purple vs. blue, etc). They also seem to have issues when scaled up at 1080p on a large monitor. They appear really grainy vs. other icons.

  • I'm looking for a decent sci/sci vesta build that can CC and heal (pvp) focused. I've tried all sorts of builds and I'm wondering if sticking with DHC up front is not the way to go. Has anyone found a build with beams and EPTW3 useful for a sci? Trying to think out of the box...
  • I would love to see a video of you using this method.... We beat NWS using the approach detailed out in the STOwiki guide. I haven't found a more reliable/easier strategy yet. BTW - at least a couple of the folks in that run have beaten it with non-roms before.
  • In my opinion, the event advertisements should end and the front page should be updated... Best not to confuse folks with false advertisements on events...
