The thing that makes Romulans go "trololol" dps wise is that they can crew their whole BOFF stations with Superior Romulan Operative and the cloaking boost traits. That right there is 4-8% more crit chance than any other faction can achieve plus a good chunk of crit severity as a cherry on top. The scimi just adds insult…
I don't get the interview hate that gets thrown at P1 time and time again. They ARE asking Gekko when he's around what his stance is on some hot topics and balance issues, and he responds in his usual way, that many perceive as evasive. But what else do you want P1 to do? Tell him "YOU ARE WRONG!" to his face? What would…
Congrats. You guys should really lock away Porch in a closet and throw away the key. He is like the doxxing trolls in gamergate or the religious lunatics in US politics that make a large diverse group look terrible on the whole to outsiders.
Why do you have two copies of FAW and EPtW? Normally if you run Aux2Battery it's so you need less copies of skills while still keeping them running as often as possible. Replace the first FAW with Attack Pattern Beta and it'll be a good boost.
I don't think that the current advanced queues can't be carried. The last times I did runs they weren't exactly complete pug runs, but they were random PESTF runs with large disparities in dps - 3 around 20k, 2 with around 5k. There was no problem hitting the optional timers with a fair safety margin (4 minutes or some…
If you are running Polarons you'll want as much flow capacitator as possible, so if they do proc, they proc HARD. (It'll also play nicely with plasmonic leech). I'd suggest dropping some of those ability consoles like iso charge for flow cap consoles. Keep the leech though, it's the best console in the game. Your build…
I have two fleet neutroniums ([+turn]) + the nukara trait that buffs defense with aux. Together that amounts to ~40% resists for kinetic and energy each. This is idling in a space zone, when in combat it could be a percent or so more thanks to extra plasmonic leech aux power.
Well I just did the BOFF re-arranging I talked about. I'm now running 2x APB, 2xBFAW3, APO and 1x EPtS1 + EPtW2 with 3 blue DCE doffs. No more Aux2Bat. So Doffs: 3x blue DCE 2x Zemock Jenro Still saving fleet creds for the 6th slot My power levels are now according to the /r/Stobuilds Power calculator when both emergency…
It's extremely inconsistent. Sometimes the first salvo stays at a rock solid >120 and then the second salvo dips to 70, with still the exact same buffs running as before (Aux2Bat, EPtW1 and Plasmonic Leech). Maybe it's something with Aux2Bat timing. I intend to switch my build to something without Aux2Bat soon. Probably a…
THIS. Gear and ships becoming obsolete is just an inconvenience. Being forced to fly ugly Cryptic originals if you want an up2date ship is the real problem though. I have no problems paying or grinding for an upgrade. But I don't to do that if it comes bundled with an ugly skin that is being forced down my throat.
Well those of us who didn't want to play the same stuff every day for a year anymore couldn't "prepare". It feels doubly punishing to return to the game now. I never before felt so left behind. My R&D **** is still Tier 0. The reps never gave this feeling because T3 or so was reasonably fast to reach and offered you most…
I'm sorry to sneak in this question, but I'm guessing the new ships and upgrades to old ships have been on tribble by now. How close/far behind are the old ships when upgraded now going to be in practice? I know the feature checklist, but some peeps must have played around with both options. I'll upgrade one ship (either…
I'm not sure such a inflammatory post even deserves a rensponse, but ok... First of all to your earlier question, yes, I'm fully aware that there are Cryptic designs in the game already, thanks for strawmanning words into my mouth. The point is the ratio of original vs classic ships that you'll actually see being used. If…
Did they ever say this? I haven't read that anywhere. From where I am sitting they want to force their original designs on the players. gameverseman: Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I guess it'll come down to how good those BOs and traits will be. But if the traits will just be something like +2% crit chance like they say…
I haven't played since the last FE, and I'm only checking the site every 4 weeks and sometimes listen to new eps of Priority One while playing other games (the irony) so forgive me if I'm not up to date on this. This thread is also a bit insane to read through with 250 pages. What is a T5-U11 ship and why would it be…
Really there is nothing wrong with the map itself, the problem is the playerbase. Kinda like Mine Trap. Though the rewards in relation to the difficulty deserve a revisit.
Are these actually considered STFs or do people just call them as such because they blow up sometimes for a change? If it's supposed to be a STF they'd have to fork over 960 dil on top of the marks, but I don't think they do that. I like the concept of the mission, and I did it two times so far and won both. One was easy,…
So do you know where the highest quality modules drop from? I bought a pretty strongly upgraded plasma grenade from the Fleet Embassy, but for the rest of my kit I think I'll have to start collecting via other means. I'm guessing elite ground STFs and 1st place in Big Dig, can anyone confirm? Any other possible sources?…
Ah, that one I played yesterday. We did beat it, but it was quite the chore. Though I assumed that it was due to everyone doing it for the first time. We all did one lane with 5 people and then it took 10 minutes for everyone to get that they had to start over the other lanes from the start, which were by that point…
What are these seriously wrong things? Not trying to be sarcastic. I haven't played since season 8 and just played a few hours yesterday and didn't notice any major problems.
This has been said after every change in the game since it went F2P. Despite all of that the game is still growing. Now don't interpret this as me endorsing the things you critisize, nothing could be further from the truth. But the fact of the matter is that people like to complain a lot, but at the end of the day they…
I haven't really played STO since a month or so after Legacy of Romulus. I logged in for the events and did my dailies for the ships, but for many months I haven't really played. All the shiny new things in the current dev blogs made me mildly excited again though. I'll play and enjoy the anniversary episode at least…
If there wasn't a requirement to finish a reputation first then this would be in no way a change for alts but a boost for all characters, regardless if it's a single character. Once any character is done, it'll benefit all your alts, regardless if it's 10 or 500. You have to make new tokens for each, but that is the least…
