For the entire life of the game, Cryptic have always put bug standard white gear in their ships (with a very few exceptions). Why would you think the secondary deflector on a bog standard Z-store ship would garner any special consideration?

This took close to four months to develop? Well it's less worse than the original but pretty obvious very little effort has gone into actually improving the UI as opposed to shoving some demented version of LCARS down our throats...
