Any details on the extended maintenance? What's keeping the techs so busy these days? Would be nice to know the reason... and don't be shy on the technobabble, we're trekkies after all ;) Also, Spear... regardless of the time you choose, someone will be impacted. Schedule it earlier, and the eastcoast folks have their…
*shrug* I invested in a few shuttles (reduction of maintenance means your big ships cycle at 9 hr intervals), done the various summer and winter events (accountwide free ship) and bought the odd pack of ships with the dil from admiralty. Doing some fleet stuff if you get your alts into a moderate fleet can get you a few…
Hm. Interesting. 30K dil / 10 days *2 = 6K dil/day. Add the 2k dil from a daily "turn over contraband" and you can supplement a large list of alts purely from admiralty, never flying a mission. All you need is a ton of ships that are unlocked accountwide...
Worthwhile update to the budget set: The 3 piece free set from the Stormbound mission isn't at all bad to use on shuttles. Same with the 3 piece weapon set from Sunrise. The Quantum Phase torpedo does a good job against heavier targets and it's shield draining addon along with the shield leeching effect of the phaser helps…
From the perspective of a newer player: The most recent introductions seem geared towards bolstering defense (the Strategist specialization mainly). Since most PVP seems geared towards extreme DPS "overwhelm the enemy before he does it to you", I see this as a good move that needs to continue. Hyper-offensive tac damage…
The assignment cycling is random and the Tour assignments do NOT require completion or XP gaining before the next one turns up. You also do NOT need to have progressed the campaign level before the Tour assignments show (IE you can be at level 8 in the Klingon campaign and still get the Tour 9 and 10). If you are running a…
Every race seems to have their specials: Romulans: Tends to spam cloaking trac mines and heavy plasma torpedos. Nausicans: Spams power drain and drain adds. Cardassians: Shield drain and photonic fleet Hirogen: Photonic fleet and Viral matrix Vaadwaur: ASA (Annoying Space Artillery) and anchor mines/hold abilities by their…
Yea. One of the most unbelievable moments in Star Trek history... if only for the fact that the effin' joystick would still be around in the 24th century. But back on topic. I wouldn't mind a strategist specialization for extreme defense to offset the "the only way to pvp is dps" crew. Turtling up to counter that -should-…
I'll admit the maneuvering debuff is less then useful given the DPS and DPH drop that the Chronitons have. Wouldn't it be better to change that proc to something more useful? Suggestions (one of, not all): 25% chance: Adds 10 seconds to all BOFF cooldowns when target is hit 25% chance: Energy weapon firing cycle reduced by…
Indeed... given the unlikeliness that someone can actively crash a map, as a support tech I'd be suspicious of reports like this. It can look like a silly attempt to use the GMs to get a rival locked out of the game. Back up your claim with some solid evidence before you start shouting hacker. Blaming someone else for an…
I don't see the problem. Instead of moving over the upgrades, account stash over the item you want to upgrade, do the upgrade on your alt character, then move it back to your main. Problem solved, right?
This is strange, since I've been using the Breen impulse engines in the visuals slot on my Jupiter for a while now. Seems to work just fine. The shield I also tried - worked but looked hideous. Haven't tried the deflector. Are you moving the engine from your inventory manually into the appropriate visual slot?
I'm loving this feature. The Breen engines may be TRIBBLE statwise, but I love their blue-white emission trail. Now I can get both the good stats I want from either the Borg engine for zipping around sector, or the Iconian one for combat, but have the neato exhaust at the same time! The Borg engine especially was kind of…
*shrug* Easy enough to fix. All energy weapons: Any energy over 100 will not apply more DPS. Still useful to have 125 energy if you fire multiple beams at once that way, but it'll bring torps and pewies into balance. That said, for sheer DPS, compare with photons. For spike damage, compare with quantums.
How is the duty officer system monetized exactly? Aside from the need to expand the roster to 200 for characters you do major doffing on... getting purple doffs isn't exactly hard once you've completed the various colonization clusters and embassy chains. Just requires a bit of a time investment.
I see "Labor Batallion" more as a "dump prisoners here fast because your brig is overflowing" quest. You're correct in dil per hour terms Shades, provided you have an infinity of prisoners. Which you don't. In terms of absolute dil per prisoner you get: 1: Forced Labor Req: 500 dil / 4 pris = 125 Dil per Pris. No failure…
You can always "Dismiss" those prisoners (fed side, Klingon side can turn em into Dil rather easily) for minor recruitment xp. Colonists you can turn into Dil easily by running the "resettle" doff quest which removes them from your inventory. If you've ran the Karemman/Paradan colonization aid chains, you can also assign…
What this game needs, my newbie at-a-glance eye spots, is simple. Crit. Immunity. Effects. And plenty of them. A 10 second crit immunity upon using any hull or shield heal as a trait wouldn't be a bad idea. Make it a selectable space trait. "Auxiliary Shield Emitters" or something. That'll break every antiproton crit…
More interesting idea would be to clarify the roles a bit more. If you want to reclassify cannons to an artillery-style weapon, meant for high range against slow targets, then naturally the size and speed of your opposition would be the offset to them. This would be a new class of weapon - Artillery Cannons. Give them an…
I wouldn't mind an option to select your rank - IE "demote" myself back to Captain while still sticking to lvl 60. Would be more fitting for most players... unless you're running a command carrier in fleet support role.
If you're getting frequent crashes-to-desktop with the debugger throwing #48890933 - try clearing out your "in-progress" mission list. I got that crash frequently (~1 hour) on one toon, no issues on another. Cleaned out an old "Kill Tholians zone-wide" pink mission from Nukura, no problems since. It's probably a memory…
I must agree - I've been curious about some of the Foundry missions, and wanted to try my hand at making the odd one myself. However, it seems that now, only the spotlight missions will carry any kind of reward (a significant one though - time based, but if you spend ~30 minutes at a spotlight mission each day, you'll get…
Are you guys still looking for volunteers? I'm an IT support tech with some basic knowledge about game design and modeling - I've done some modding for a Freelancer (mickeysoft game) based mod. Only started playing STO about a month ago but I'm enjoying the game and see myself stick with it for quite some time. Might as…
I did notice the clusters at Bajor and DS9 are moving around now. No leisurely sit-and-play-the-minigame anymore. Most simple place to gather the red omegas now seems to be Vlugta ground... Blue and Yellows are still easy at Vulcan and Drozana space. Haven't really noticed them being fewer. But by now I'm usually just…
I have gotten these quests to periodically pop up. You'll need to cruise around the alpha quadrant a bit to get them. Try the Cardassia - Breen - Ferenginar - Trill loop, watch for when your "current map" DOFF assignment listing changes, then check both your Current Map and Operations assignments. These haggle quests seem…
I tried a few things and so far I've not crashed again. It's either one of two things: - I've gone in my keybindings and changed the "Left Click" to "Left Press", same for right and middle mouse. If DirectInput isn't working properly or not registering that event properly, could cause the leak. - I had an old quest open…
Interesting. I've started a second Arc account for computer 2 and loaded up a new player. No memory leak. Same client version, my default Fed player: Still crashy. The issue is specific either to the character, or the profile. Probably a corrupt model of some sort in that case, throwing DirectX out of whack. I'll have to…
The only thing incommon between my 2 systems are: - OS: Win 10 64 bit (but had the problem on Win7 x64 too) - Ram size: 8GB (but others have the same with less) - Network card - Realtek 8110 series Gigabit adapter. I've downloaded the latest drivers, no difference. Still leaky. - Audio card: Realtek HD audio. Also…
