I've answered this many times. When we made LoR, we had an underlying assumption throughout all the missions that Tovan would be one of your boffs. You would not be able to dismiss him, no matter what - and consequently, all of the content was written and structured with that in mind. We will never be able to allow you to…
I'm a game designer, not a producer or a director. I don't control release schedules. And while I'm familiar with the reasonings behind our particular schedule, as it's not my purview, it wouldn't really be kosher to talk about it.
No - but your quoted post does not seem to take into account multiple slots allowing you to progress more quickly than 10 xp per minute, which the XP curve assumes you will use. Slots 4 and 5 are actually totally bonus and were added in playtesting, and we didn't go back and scale XP around them. By my calculations, it…
Telekinesis Time Control Vulnerable to mean-spirited message board comments Edit: actual weakness would be... "Unable to consciously commit an act of violence." Pretty hamstringing, as far as super-powered exploits go.
You'll unlock a title (10 accolade points) at 20. As you progress from 15 to 20, your odds of making better stuff continues to improve. Other than that, you have access to everything you can craft at level 15.
Maybe. They'd be cool to add, but they're weird weapons that never saw enough balancing or tuning - they were always meant to be "cool flavor" but they're not really congruent with most of the game's core gameplay. We're prioritizing making the core system work well and feel good/worthwhile/rewarding, then we can add extra…
They should be able to go in the Fleet Bank. It might not be working properly right now. They should be able to go in Bank, Account Bank, Fleet Bank, R+D Bag, and Overflow Bag. They're currently in a state of flux as we try to make that happen.
There's a reason I didn't call it Dodge on the trait - I called it "20% Damage Reduction" as that's what it does. Dodge in our engine stems from Champions, where it works as I described above.
No, not in STO. Defense is a miss chance. Dodge (on ground, famously on Caitians and some ground set gear) is actually damage reduction. You have your DodgeChance % chance to reduce incoming damage by your AvoidanceMagnitude %. This power is a 100% DodgeChance, 20% AvoidanceMagnitude.
Honestly, no, it wouldn't be better. Having something in the game to build on lets us iterate and improve. Everything has an opportunity cost - working on R+D means I'm not making critter groups, or mission rewards, or scripting boss fights, or working on progression systems or combat balance. We've dedicated a huge amount…
We actually really don't like A2B, but it's a bit of a "third rail" situation. When we have the right fix to it, someday, we'll probably possibly maybe make it.
We want to add this eventually - you'd get some amount of XP and recoup some of the components it took to make the item. We'd want this to work on all items (even non-crafted items) though, and making that happen isn't feasible in a reasonable amount of time. But we set the system up in a way that allows us to support this…
Traits aren't really power creep - they're lateral power movement. That's why they give traits - you can get all your space or ground traits you want from another system. Or you can get them from Crafting. Whatever you want.
There's no mark restriction. They're not on Tribble yet, the space energy weapons ones will definitely be in this week's build, and possibly everything else as well but it depends when the build gets made.
There are more mods than are listed in the blog - I just listed one for each item type. There is a CDR mod for Exotic Damage available on Deflectors as well.
Exactly 0 chance. Sorry. We're not updating the old system so much as taking out a storefront that had an XP bar and replacing it with a whole new crafting system.
Yeah, that's how it works. Each activation of an ability refreshes the stack. It's meant to encourage "power twisting", basically. Bonuses and values still subject to tuning, I think I started a little low on them so that all you guys would ever see was buffing. :P
No, see my first post. The Aegis set is still BoE (and in fact is probably now Bind to Account on Equip - I'll have to double check, but that's the general rule for crafted stuff.)
2pc: Energy Negation: Every 30 seconds, gain a buff that completely negates the next incoming hit. 3pc: Energy Feedback Conductor: Long recharge click power. Gives +100 Res All Energy, Reduces Shield damage taken by 30%. 10 sec duration. For each second while this buff is active that you take Energy Damage, gain +2% bonus…
The set is Bind to Account on Equip - the screenshots I provided for the blog were just on gear I had already equipped, and thus it was bound to me. The whole draw of R+D is making gear for other people as well as yourself, and that includes the endgame gear available in the system. The old set is upgraded to the new…
The patch note is incorrect - it was meant to state that the recruitment assignment for R+D materials and Duty Officers gives Development CXP (since it's a duty officer mission). R+D assignments do not give CXP of any sort - they are their own system.
