Good to know that there's only one free way to fix it, but its not do able in even rarer cases.

Just a thought here, have you bought a shuttle for ec from ship yard so ya have two ships? Then discharge the main ship? It may not work but worth a shot

Hopefully this post helps others avoid that problem, or save them time waiting since tickets take a long time to get a response. I am still waiting on my ticket that i submitted before i found the fix. Worst part is this glitch traps you from doing future missions, and patrols take too long to level up.
