they look better, but as others have said the black of the TNG MOVIE top and pants doesn't match still, so hopefully that will be fixed soon.

also the TNG MOVIE uniform still has a few inaccuracies, I made a comparison image here:

I hate to burst your bubble... but...
I agree, most often when you see this uniform, it's zipped up all the way to the "top" of the black.. but it has been shown in canon being worn "more open"

Theres some pretty good pics and discussion on this website over here

I'm aware of the color problems with the new TNG/DS9 updates, specifically the inability to make them as dark as the rest of the parts in STO (more specifically, the TNG pants)

I'll see what I can do to fix this up for yall.

    Also, to be clear:

While the artist for the TNG Film and DS9 uniforms was working hard today to make updates to those uniforms and badges, I took a bit to do some small changes to the TNG Series uniform you were requesting.

I updated the TNG Series uniform top, and the TNG style split bottom pants, so that the textures would render better, and so that the colors would be able to support black tinting better. (They now are able to get to a proper level of darkness) I also fixed up some of the nasty color bleeding that was occurring on the TNG Series jacket.

These changes should have been in the patch notes.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Thanks for everything you and your team are doing to fix us up. We're heading in the right direction now and it's much appreciated!!

I was going to make a thread about this, but I did a 'Search' first & found this one so ...

... I logged in last night & I noted that my DS9 Crew all look very odd now. The Top & Trousers both use trhe same 'Black' but while the top is 'Black' the trousers are a dark grey(ish). I use the Next Gen Split I think, not sure if the DS9 came with separate Trousers. I tried correcting at the Tailor but could not get the Black to match Top & Trousers.

As a result I will not be playing that Captain now, & request Cryptic please FIX it.

I have not yet checked on my main yet, but I am fearful.

Well just logged on after patching..... they look worse than the originals.

The textures look even more like "burlap sacks" than they did before and they also look very low-res. :(

I just logged in and noticed that now the TNG Film uniform looks rather light greyish and not Black at all.
Either the Devs have some kind of really weird sense of humor or the one in charge needs to visit a good eye specialist.
I seriously hope that they never "correct" my beloved AGT uniform.

    Thank you for reading.

Yesterday the Jacket was black and the Pants greyish. Today after the patch the Pants are black and the Jacket is greyish. I am afraid you have to take another look on that Matt. But i love the new Communicator.;)

like I said in the other thread, no bubble was "burst", it is seen zipped up like that 99% in the shows and movies, so if anything it should be zipped up ingame and the unzipped should be an OPTION. sorry to burst YOUR bubble

Yeah, Matt knows about the wonky colors on the new tops.

Do note he did update the colors and texture on the TNG Series uniform and the pants, so those look a lot better now. Once they get the color saturation (its all colors that are washed out, not just black) on the new tops fixed, they'll be MOST excellent looking.

One point of idle curiosity: when the Wrath of Khan uniforms were updated, I had to re-equip them at the tailor to see the changes but these updates are already in effect on my crews...what's the difference?

It's nice to see the team trying to fix all of these issues with various uniforms but I guess the AGT rank clipping issues just aren't a priority. ): Depending on the ccharacters height, the clipping can be much worse too on any toon under 5'8". If you put all of the AGT content together though, I guess it all fits nicely since the Galaxy X and AGT uniforms are all in sad states visually.

TNG tops could still do with more saturated colours, and maybe even some slightly different shades.

The current reds are pretty dark, as well as being more to the 'orange/brown' side of things - compare that do the actual show versions, which were a shade more 'purple' - maroon or even 'plum' would be a better description.

Case in point - Sisko in TNG Movie uniform (Command red)

Similarly, Sisko in DS9/VOY uniform (Command red)

[EDIT] - A better-lit example from the movies:

My biggest problem with the uniform since the latest update is the "black" uniform color (or the non-existance of it).

When I started the game after patching it, the pants of the uniform were dark black (like they should be) but the jacket color was more or less a dark grey. Well, at least it was not as black as the pants, although I selected the exact same color for both (jacket & pants).
To get the same color for both, I had to select some greyish color scheme. Now pants & jacket do have the same color but the color is way too light and absolotely not canon like.

Please dear Developers! Please let us select a very dark black color for the uniforms (well, at least for the jackets), so that we can create canon uniforms and not some greyish fantasy uniforms. Thank you!

Yes, I just went to the Tailor and the lack of black on this uniform really needs addressing.

Could the Wrath of Khan trousers also receive an update to allow them to go full black instead of dark grey?

    /Signed.

I would love to use those trousers on my uniforms too, but the grey always made it look stupid IMHO.
The Dev changing that grey into black that would be a real Hero, in my eyes. :)

I would also like to suggest, that we get a much more colorisation and material options, so even Cryptics Uniforms could be usable if they did not look like made of plastic.

    Thank you for reading.

    Man, that's one big issue.

Side note: I have not suffered any issues with my uniforms. Ever.
