Fed Carriers We Need One

I have a question would it be possible for the feds to have thier own carriers cause ive been watching alot of episodes of ds9 and i noticed the the feds had fighters now if they had fighters dont u think that the feds should get a carrier equal to the ones with the kdf i mean just to balance things out a bit i know everyone is going to say the feds are not military but lets face it if they wasnt military then why do they have fighters and escorts and crusiers that have enough fire power to level anything in the game so there for the only logical thing is to let the feds have thier own carrier's and i would like to see them have one just to balance it out a bit cause i also notice the the kdf carriers are a very powerful u may not think it is but it is if u look at the numbers example a klingon sci officer has a carrier 1 he brings out his little fighters or birds of prey then he calls out his photonic fleet then they all fire at the same time it would be very hard to take on a carrier on a one on one or even 5 vrs 5 so therefor i would love to see a fed side carrier.

There was an idea in another thread to not necessarily make a fed carrier type ship but give federation ships the ability to equip support vessels to their device slots.

I was thinking something along the lines of worker bees, which when summoned improve your hull repair rate or type 9 shuttle that provides navigational assistance.

They deployed like Klingon fighters and so could be destroyed. If they were destroyed you lost them and the item would disappear from your device slot.

I would like to see this as a avenue in crafting, you would craft your own shuttles and support craft. These could either be sold on the exchange, traded, or used by your character. I think this should be the only way to acquire the more exotic types with more standard lower grade versions should be sold by vendors and ESD and the like.

This would largely make sense, we know that most federation ships carry several different shuttles. It would also reinforce the idea of cruisers having larger facilities can support more support craft with having more device slots. Any thoughts?

Well at least this isnt an exchange rant. We know how well those worked out for the OP last time.

Now, if they had fighters don't you think that the Feds should get a carrier equal to the ones within the KDF? I mean, just to balance things out a bit.

I know everyone is going to say that the Feds are not a real military, but lets face it if they weren't a real military then why would they have fighters, escorts and cruisers with enough firepower to level anything in the game? Therefore the only logical thing is to let the Feds have their own carriers.

Also, I would like to see them have one just to balance it out a bit since I notice that the KDF carriers are very powerful. You may not think it is, but if you look at the numbers they seem to be. A klingon science officer with a carrier can bring out his little fighters or Birds-of-Prey, then call out his photonic fleet, then they all fire at the same time. It would be very hard to take on a carrier one-on-one, or even 5-on-5.

Thus i would love to see a Federation carrier.

I'd like to see it done in an Akira retrofit.

One hangar that can use either support shuttles or fighters.

It wouldn't be a full carrier, Cryptic could call it a tactical carrier.

I would like to see something like this for if/when an akira refit is released as well.

In Ultima 3 I bested the Floor.

Now I have conquered the Wall.

From here there is only one possible path.

    The lines have been drawn.

    It is unavoidable.

Why do Federation players continue to insist on taking our toys?* Go ahead and have a carrier, but it should only launch shuttlecraft.

    * Note: This is not a shot at ALL Federation players. I just hate seeing people asking for stuff that they shouldn't get.

Look, everytime this is brought up, it becomes a rage thread. The Klingons (some of them) get butt hurt and then say how the feddies are trying to take what makes them unique in-game (rightly so).

No dev has ever commented on a carrier desire thread to my knowledge. I'm going with this isn't something the dev's are planning on implementing any time soon.

To answer the OP for the millionth time, and point out the glaringly obvious. You saw them on DS9 because they were launched from the station. They are short range interceptors. And they suck.
If you think carriers are so hot level up a KDF and try one out. Quit trying to distract the devs with stuff like this. Its counter productive to the advancement of the game. If the devs are working on this they arent working on something else. And please for the love of Pete, count the number of ships the Feds have rolled out since launch, then count the number of ships the KDF have got. Then look at the amount of Fed content the game started with, and how much the KDF have now.
The KDF need content, and to do that they need the developers attention, and dedication. Dstahl has said before we get a new faction the KDF need serious attention, and sooner rather than later as they have been put off and kept waiting quite long enough already.

As a Fed player, I made it all the way to VA without even using all the content available. There are missions I havent even done yet and I dont need to anymore. Ive been leveling a KDF and it is a grind. A solid mind numbing grind. Before anyone else jumps in with the KDF dont need content, please try the grind. Enjoy and return for comment. Seriously the KDF are due.
Walk a mile in their shoes. Please show some consideration for the other half.

Read this post from Dstahl himself. He commented on it.

Isn't the new Gorn ship supposed to be a Science vessel?

Well, then that raises the question of when Feds will get Bird-of-Prey-like full universal slot-toting raiders...

That, I think can be safely said is a Klingon only trait.

Unless they decide to put it into another faction, but its a mechanic that most likely won't be transferred over to the Fed side.

NO to the akira becoming a carrier. Just No.

Just give me Torpedo barrage with it, (hell make me suffer with Defiant boff slots) and call it a day.

And No... we don't need a Carrier. We've got Sci ships. And the klinks don't. (not till the gorn ship anyway but still)

I really really don't mind us not having carriers.

The mobility of science ships make them more practical at science skills than carriers (which are slow and have a really slow turn rate)

That's an odd choice for a Gorn ship.

Too bad the nerf Science took awhile ago makes Science itself impractical...

must i keep pointing out the glaring flaw in fed carrier designs

they use drones because no feds are death happy jihadists to fly the fighters

fighters and other drones are not viable to remote control in the trek universe due to ease of jamming all frequencies preventing remote control. ai is also out of the question as any first year science accedemy type can easily hack and take over an ai turning the fighter drones back on their own carrier. hell sensor bomb already makes us shoot our friends and heal our enemies, youre saying fighters wouldnt be 100x more susceptable?

kdf has fighters because they have jihading extremists to pilot them, they die happy knowing they go to stovo'kor
