edited July 2010 in PC Gameplay Bug Reports
this has been an ongoing issue for me since March,

I can not play ground missions without the game itself crashing.

it is annoying, since i am missing out on a lot of progression and the game itself when i gotta wait for the game to rebuild itself for 10 minutes after it crashes.

I have submitted numerous crash reports and a thread or two, but so far i have had no help whatsoever- community or official

here is the important bits of my dxdiag:

A clarification might help, like when does it crash on the loading acreen or after away team selection, also you don't have to wait for the program to check itself just hit cancel then engage.

it will crash at any given time during extended ground missions.

i cant predict it, but most of the time it is either just before or just after a firefight. the game just freezes, and i have to Ctrl+Alt+Del and open task manager, since Alt+Tab doesn't work when the game crases

I had to update my BIOS, drop to 2 gig of RAM, and drop the buss speed down to get to stop crashing.

It turns out the this game is very sensitive to how memory is used and ANY timing errors.
One memory timing error or glitch will cause it to crash RFN.

My suggestion is to make sure the BIOS on the motherboard is up-to-date, take 2 gigs out, and if you're running at 800 MHz on the buss, drop it to 667. That is what I did and it worked.

    Of course, YMMV.
