How could CBS betray their loyalty to Cryptic like this?
Does this mean STO is shutting down?
How can they now make a F2P MMO after backing Cryptic's model?

I think you have it backwards...CBS IS the licence holder...they owe cryptic nothing, they sold them a
license to make the game...thats it. Not the right to control what CBS does with thier IP.
CBS can sell the license to everyone if they wish...or even give it away free if they wanted.
It is thier choice alone...the true value of OWNING...you get to do ANYTHING you like with it.
one thing that makes me sad is the fact that... it has a clone wars kind of look to it. I'm watching this video right now and i keep on getting the feeling that they are going for the clone wars look. ( the armor looks like clone armor, and as far as I can remember the only thing close to that in KOTOR was the sith armor... and these guys are playing the good guys. ) kind of a let down.
I'm not too worried about this.
1) It's a browser game, so it fits in a completely different market.
2) It's about TOS, not about TNG and further. Though cool I prefer the new stuff.
3) STO is going well so far and I really like this game.
if you read the face book game will be baout diplmatic stuff exploring . the browser game is going to be a ship combat . but will not have the depth of sto combat
Where does it say MMO, it says Social Networking game, and it'll be a browser based game at that. I'm imagining something similar to whats on Facebook at the moment called Fleet Commander (I think) which was fun, but that's the limit. It will be no threat to Cryptic's MMO.

Nothing twisting about it. We have a post from a Cryptic employee that says they wouldn't put the MU uniforms on the C-Store. Time passed, and they changed their minds, and there we are.

i disagree, and for everyones information there are 2 star trek games being made one is for facebook. the other is a browser game both are free to play. i do think that the browser free to play might be fun to play, not as good as sto but in any case i do think that cryptic could pick up ideas off of there content.

well that just shows signs that the man who created THIS, and THIS had his hands in TOR.

Considering they didn't say they would never be on the c-store and never said soon(tm) then you don't have anything to worry about.
if you look at it this way. they kept their promise. it was not released at launch, but it was released down the road.

So although you can play it on Facebook and seperately (though you should use Facebook apps first to do this) you can play it seperately on it's own.
