and one last thing. How do we even know all these people are quitting? so many of them say they are but continue posting on the forums

All the ones that say they quite either never actually do or go bye bye when their time runs out since the forums require active subs or they pay to QQ.

Wikipedia is encyclopedic and should contains facts. NOT just the facts (or reviews) you wish to accentuate to use it as your own personal whining post. Posting an editorial and citing references does not make it a proper article. Grow up.

Hey it works for the real world. Why shouldn't work for the interwebz?

Because the interweb at least pretends to still have standards?

    The XP are infraction points.

But do I then use the infraction points to turn in for gear?

No, but when you reach the level cap, you'll find out that there's no endgame.

Who wants to trade infractions? :p

You know me, I'm not the biggest fan of Cryptic. But I do know we wont see another Star Trek Online for a good while so I will throw what support I can behind the game and for Star Trek.

But! This smacks of more a concerted effort to bag on Star Trek Online to me then just a bunch of customers simply being disgruntled.

The way people have rallied over a single retailer doing a short term sale, to me has been overreacted.

If this was every single retailer doing a price drop + 60-90 days I would be fully with the mob mentality and would be banging on Cryptics door too.

But something keeps telling me, it's only one retailer, this is being overblown. I understand the argument that people feel slighted because new people will be getting more stuff, but to react like this over one retailer, makes my inner voice say there is more to the story then just disgruntled customers.

I can see this coupled with the games problems easily fueling emotions, making the forums a much funner place to game ;)

It's great that Cryptic is hearing how their customers feel though, you guys have done a wonderful job of that, personally I think this Atari short term sale is in response to the customer survey Cryptic has been conducting. No big conspiracy, not that many people are going to get that bonus time anyways, the sale ends in a few days, the most important thing is for Star Trek Online to get development funds.

We can still be critical while having faith that the game will be developed to our liking in due time. There are better things to mob them over in my opinion, and this will probably blow over after the sale ends. And if you got so mad that you quit, you can take advantage of this new sale and get free time! Come on, you know Cryptic wants you too :p
