    For no reason other than I felt like it.

    As for the nick, it comes from a band named The Kovenant. They call their fans "Gen Techs", and my real name starts with a J. Since so many people can never remember it (even though it's an easy name) I tell people to call me J.

    Thus GenTechJ was born.

    lol, that's actually kind of interesting. I was just asking because I was watching Lost in Space the other night and during the opening starfighter scene (the coolest scene in the whole movie, featuring the coolest starfighters in all of science fiction), Major West refers to the pilot of the enemy starfighter as a "Gentech."
