Solo Winter Invasion TFO

Was wondering if the Winter Invasion tfo could be allowed to be done solo. Idk how many years its been that every time i run that tfo its a race to the end, and usually one or two players collect all of the goodies on the map. I'd like to do the tfo and actually enjoy the map, rescue some ginger bread ppl and maybe close out some acccolades.

I could go for that. Ticks me off when I'm just starting to fight the giant monkey that someone sets off the giant snowman.

Are you talking the race? your best bet would be switch to the lowest population instance. Hopefully no one else will join. other than that, the frosted boots and sylvia's charm (cat mode) are your friends.

if you are talking about Kramphiri, ditto the low instance, but he will target you and you won't be able to collect anything

No, i was talking about the winter invasion tfo thats on the tfo list during the winter wonderland event. The tfo where you go around rescuing gingerbread ppl, collecting presents and candy. Then you fight the snow yeti in his cave, and after that you fight the snow man boss at the end.

There is a TFO you can queue up for. Its a reskin of Colony Invasion that used to be run for Fleet Marks years ago. You can either queue up for it on the TFO menu, or poke the snow dome on the table near Q that is interactable.

I can help with that one, assuming you're on a PC and not a phone - look at the bottom of the post you want to quote, and click "Quote". You can then edit the quoted post, eliminating anything irrelevant to what you're saying.

Another method is to use the BBCode tags for quotes, which is the word "quote" inside square brackets (look like [ ]), followed by what you wanted to quote, and closing with "/quote" again inside the square brackets. This won't attribute the quote, but it will put it into your post.

huh. never knew that tfo was a thing. if it's in the tfo list, can you queue for a private run and try solo?

I do like the tfo, on one of my toons thats 4 or 5 years old now, has some gingerbread ppl to save and i think some candy to collect on that tfo map for accolades. Ya, five yrs of every time i que up a few players in the christmas spirit collecting the whole map for themselves and sprinting to the end, very grinchy. Everyone gets a surprise gift at the end and thats where the ginger bread pets are rng'd. Theres an orion, vulcan, klingon, snowmen pets, and maybe a cple others. A lump of coal can also be found in the mystery gift at the end. Recipes for nelix can be found in presents laying around. And it's a fun tfo that i would like to solo, enjoy for longer than 80 secs, and maybe close out 5 year old accolades. As of now you need a five player team for private.

edited for- ugh, i got nixie's quote right but screwed up jonsill's, lol

I have same feeling, sometimes I manage to delay whole run, when I write in team, there are goodies. Whole teams tend to run back, and take them. But for what you wish, I believe premade group is what you strive for. If you will be forming Gingerbread away team, count me in. I would like to clear it (and many more TFO) with normal pace myself.

@rynae1, sure i'd like a relaxed run where we can communicate what each player needs and share the loot. I think i only need rescue gingerbread ppl, and i think i know where all of the hiding spots are for the presents. I don't have any friends to offer to the team, my friends list started evaporating back in 2017.

@krisxr400 Oki! Sounds great! I still have some friends left, which come online, I will ask them then if they would like to form away team to enjoy not-speedruns. :) I will PM you with possible progress. See you in space!

I would like to see the TFO added to event credit like other TFOS typically are,
Sometimes I am crunched for time and dont have time to wait for the one I actually want to do for credit.
As to the TFO, It could be fun to do it alone, the only issues I see are the bosses at the end could take time to kill them.

    That's a good idea Fred.

    I support the idea.

Also, why not change it such that a present collected by someone else also counts towards your accolade progress? That way it doesn't really matter if one person collects everything or if people are prepared to share.

Just do 'Fastest Race on Ice' (Not Fast N Flurrious) if you're stuck for time. It's 2 minutes from pickup to submit once you're used to it. No waiting (usually) and no-one spoiling the jaunt (unless it's that DAMNED Krampi'ri announcment at the end of it).
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Try jumping the entire way, if that hasn't been suggested yet.

Some things to know are that you can cut corners a little, thus smoothing some of the turns so you can run in a more or less a straight line for long stretches. Don't cut the corners by too much though or you'll fail. If you find yourself sliding off the course, jumping or rolling and immediately releasing any movement keys/buttons will stop you on a dime, allowing you to re-orientate the camera to the direction you want to go next. Also be aware that the NPC you're running against is pretty slow, so you don't have to be ultra-quick to beat him easily. The stoppages from jumping or rolling don't delay you by much. The important thing is to stay within the course markers so as to not be disqualified. I find the running and jumping to stop sliding at sharp corners to be the way that suits me best. Once you get the knack it becomes very quick and easy.

Um i gave up trying to do the race year 1, spent 4 hours and hundreds of idea.
I have watched videos and tried it and failed.
There are just things in this game that i cannot handle due to what is needed to accomplish the goal.
EX: I cant shoot and move and be done in seconds doing ramp challenge, so i die 4 times to get across.
It just is what it is.

If you told us how you failed we might be able to help do it the next time. Just saying you failed won't allow as to help you.

It's not that hard so unless your system is too laggy to do there has to be something you're doing wrong and thus failing, I used to fail it nearly constantly as I did it the wrong way but now I do it pretty much every time.
