Latinum Plate material bug

The latinum plate material doesn't work on any of my Ferengi ships. In fact, I can't change the material on any of them at all. My D'kora is stuck in some gross beige-grey look.

Please no one ask me if there's anything in the vanity slots. There isn't. Don't ask me if I've logged out and logged back in. I have. Don't ask me if I've changed maps and/or instances. I have. This is a bug. There seems to be a strong tendency in this forum to assume that anyone making a bug report must not understand how the game works, which is strange given that the game is and always has been a buggy mess. This really is a bug. I'm only posting here because support told me this must be a bug. I would never post here for any other reason.

    The Latinum Plate material is only usable on the Nagus and Quark Marauders.

    That's definitely a shield equipped with a visual overlay.
    Go to your Ship Equipment interface and right-click the shield to "Disable Visuals".
    If that doesn't work, there's one equipped in your 'Visuals' tab.
