Once, long ago, Callistos were fixed and worked after being rather broken for a while.Then they were broken again.
As it stands now, they:
- Do not keep up with the carrier at full impulse
- Totally ignore the order to attack
- Fly around wasting lock trajectory while firing only secondary 360s at the enemy
- Refuse to dock, especially after an engagement with an enemy.
The only way to make them work at all is to set them to 'escort' your ship, which severely limits their range, for frigs that should be able to attack targets up to 19 out.
This has been an issue for a long time, this has been reported before, I even linked the report. The support frigates have
NONE of these issues.
The worst thing is that the issues were fixed once, but when they came back, it was never acknowledged and they were never fixed again. They worked for a few months in 2017. Then were broken again in another patch. And despite the previous linked bug report, never looked at again.
If fixed, the Callistos would
likely be the best frigates in all of STO, or close to it. As it is? They're worthless and people want them refunded even.
The remaster would be the
PERFECT time to fix them again, just grab parts of the support frigate code and cross apply it to a tactical one? The support frigates work just fine.
