Leaver penalty after failed Elite TFO

So I was playing the Tholian rescue TFO and it failed, while the consolation prize pick popped up I picked one of them and transwarped out of there only to be slapped with a leaver penalty.

    So, you didn't Leave by the usual method? Thus, a Leaver Penalty.

    It's worth noting that there is a 30 minute cooldown on TFO's whenever you complete/fail them anyway.

    Point is I shouldn't have gotten it, the elite failed and gave the reward which I already chose, it didn't even give me the leave button so I had no choice but to hit transwarp. After playing this game for 10 years I am very much aware of the cooldown which is not what I was saying happened.
