I Bought a Lifetime Subscription back in 2012 -2013 at the time it seemed like a good idea 500 zen a month being the main draw there are also other stuff as well but a lot of it can be got without Getting LTS now looking back knowing what i know now and seeing how the game has progressed i wish i had not spent the money i did on LTS dont get me wrong i am grateful for the 500 zen a month but other then that i dont think the LTS is value for money anymore

so if you have a a LTS Which you purchase a long while ago do you regret it do you think its value for Money and to those who have purchased a LTS Recently do you you think you have value for money are you Regreting your decison

also what would be your ideas for making it value for Money

Absolutely not. It was a Birthday present for myself. 8 years down the line I'm still wearing that starfleet belt. I play the game for at least two hours every day so this was my way of giving something back.

I also purchased my lifetime subscription as a birthday present for myself. Given the amount of Zen I've gotten back over more than 10 years it seems it was a pretty good deal for me.

On PC, I purchased my lifetime subscription at the end of open Beta before the game even launched. So, I've definitely got my money's worth out of it.

On console I was able to grind to get the lifetime for free (just cost time) and while it doesn't come with the 500 zen stipend the extra character, ship, bank, and inventory slots are a blessing.

I bought one about 2 years ago, and even then I feel like I don't regret it. The extra bank an inventroy space REALLY helps and the auto-refining of dilithium is VERY nice for someone like me who frequently pops in once a week unless there is an event going on.

I bought mine and I bought Anne's 6 months later. i cannot speak to her, but I like the manticore, would love to see a specialist update.

I don't regret buying mine years ago; I have LTS on PC (which I paid for) and Xbox (which I ground the Dil for, for just over 6 months). Although it could do with a little refresh since the Dev's introduced 'playable Borg' by the back door, it is still good value for money as it is continually paying you back with Zen stipend on PC, whilst Xbox is a third cheaper due to the lack of stipend.

Considering the direction the game has been going in, i actually regret spending the money at all 8 yrs ago.
If i knew then what i know now, i would of kept my money and not spent a dime.
As to what it would take to fix my regret in spending the money, not going to happen, too many changes would be needed which i realize will never happen.

I do believe that the lifer benefits have been devalued with all the Borg lobi and lockbox stuff coming out. They should have used the opportunity to improve the Liberated Borg species, imo.

Also, the Veteran ships could use an update: different specs, rework the console as recently discussed in another thread (especially letting it fire without a charge-up time), and maybe also add more parts to them. They don't come with a lot of customisation options.

Personally I never cared much about the Zen. It's too little to be that useful. It's a nice extra, but it's not where the true value of the Lifer subscription is, in my opinion. I care more for the stuff that's truly unique and restricted to the Lifer benefits - and that has become less interesting over the years, if you ask me.

At 6,000 zen a year you've now gotten 60,000+ zen back from your 20-30,000 zen purchase. If you've purchased more than that 20-30,000 zen worth of items from the c-store just think back on how you've enjoyed the ships, costumes, etc. and your regrets should vanish.

I agree that buying a LTS now makes a lot less sense. The chimera/manticore and faction variants were good for their time but a bit dated now, and the 5% XP boost and respec tokens are nice to have but you can buy them separately, etc.

I bought mine at the end of 2014 so I've come out way ahead too. I also got to enjoy the ships when they were new, have used the XP boost on 10+ captains, had fun with the fireworks, etc.

I'm not sure how to make LTS worthwhile for new players. I can think of things I want like a completely unlocked tailor but if Cryptic does that I'd be happy for all players to have it not just subscribers.

    No regrets here.
Although I do kinda wish they'd look at some of the lifer perks and update. The Captain's Table may be a cool zone, but it offers nothing you can't get at ESD other than seeing some old NPCs again.

I didn't envision playing for very long nor buying the LTS when I started on Xbox in 2018, but did so via the grind a year later. No regrets about it either - the extra inventory space and the auto dil refine have come in handy over the years. I've never been concerned by the lack of a monthly stipend. I can (and do) earn much more than that 500 Zen a month just through playing the game, so don't give it a second thought.

Would be nice to see the perks freshened up a little, both for new players and veterans alike.

I got mine around the same time. At that time, there was a 30% sale, and thus I spent around $210 which has resulted in me acquiring $735 worth of zen in that time.

I absolutely do not regret the purchase. I had the cash to spare back then and I didn't regret it then either.
Nowadays, I play on PlayStation as well and I'd buy it again on there if I had the cash to spare. Alas, I do not, but I am still enjoying myself immensely and have managed to convert dilithium to build up to quite a few Z-Store purchases, including the Temporal Agent and the Gamma Quadrant Packs - the BIG ones, not the small ones.

Once I start pulling in income from my upcoming job, I'm definitely going to take the plunge and join the lifers' club. I've put quite a bit of investment into this game already, and I don't see why I shouldn't shell out for the LTS once I have the money. Only reason I haven't yet was due to lack of funds. That's about to change. 😁
    GAME OVER

I purchased mine soon after launch, so have gotten a lot of free zen out of it.

When the game changed hands from Atari to Perfect world (and then went free to play) I did not think PWE would honour the previous lifetime subscriptions, but I was pleasantly surprised when they did.

All in all I have no regrets, but I would most probably not purchase one now, I would not say the game has reached the end of it's life, but the engine has serious limitations, and many of the original coders have left, making it difficult to make changes or upkeep certain parts of the game (the closure of the foundry being a prime example).

I would happily start paying a subscription again if they invested in a revamped engine with greater capabilities. The stories the team come up with are often very good and well written, but at the end of the day it all boils down to 'shoot this' 'click that' - there is no actual exploration, no real way to 'fail' in a way that presents a sense of danger or excitement.

But to get back to the main point, yes I am very happy with the my lifetime subscription and what it has given me.
